If you could be gaurenteed at least 10 wins per year for the regular season and the football team advance to at least the semi-finals of the D1-aa playoffs what is the lowest % of graduation would you accept for the football team.

ouch! Some of you hard very hard ass graduation rates guys and gals!
Right now 70% is leading! I don't think we are at 70% now!

I think you would have to clarify how that rate would be calculated as far as who gets inlcuded in the total amount of "attendees."

Do you count everyone who goes to practice even once? Do you count everyone who comes into the program but leaves due to injury or some other extenuating circumstance?

I'm not sure there's even a 50% football player retention rate, let alone a 50% graduation rate.

Somewhat a funny question.
If you are gaurenteed 10 wins and playoffs, then the graduation rate is free. So you pick 70% or the highest available choice.

They are Student Athletes, but and it's a BIG BUT, they are there to play football and win.

The reason Willingham was fired from ND was purely wins and loses (the graduation rate was really high and had gone higher under him). The program was clean, etc. ND (the special school) said he was fired because he did not win.

A football program for the most part is aimed at bringing money into the school and for alumni. Not to improve the graduation rate of the school or for Rhode Scholars.

USC, Oklahoma, etc do not look at their Graduation Rate, except to make sure it is not to bad. Ive League schools (and possibly Standard) do care and they put grades and graduation over football. Not on track to graduate in 4 years (no Red Shirt allowed), you are not allowed to play. Really simple there, as it is simple at USC.

The name of the game is win or coach gets fired (as this web site has said over and over). Actually this web site has never talked about firing Kramer or anyone because of graduation rate, it's if he doesn't make the play offs or above 500 when there is talk.
