Few words from a GRIZ fan......

Post by Nick » Sun Nov 14, 2004 12:13 am

Great game today by the Eagles and Bobcats, just as close as I had figured it would be. This game was a true display of talent, and I offer my respect to the Cats for playing so well today and congratulations to the Eagles who somehow managed to pull off what at one point seemed in possible.

I for one was cheering for MSU today (with the thoughts Montana taking all the marbles next week) but I know the Bobcats will be just as tough as ever. I'm only hoping that Ochs, Hilliard, Talmage and company will get off to a quick start like they have been the last couple weeks. Next week in Missoula may not be for the Big Sky championship, but it will still be just as huge --- I will not make one prediction on this game all week because it's not even worthy of one. It will go down as one of the all time classics.

I know it's not as big of a deal for the Cats now -- but I encourage Bobcat fans who were planning on coming to Missoula to still make the trip. I read a post earlier today on BobcatNation from a Cat fan stating that he was giving his ticket away.....Come on......Help us pack Washington-Grizzly Stadium and show the rest of the nation (I-A AND I-AA) which state has the greatest rivalry in all of college football.

Up with Montana....

GO GRIZ!!!

Nice post Nick...the game today was a great one, but unfortunately one team has to end up on the losing end...

I went to the Cat/Griz game in 2000 when MSU was 0-10, so I'll still be there! It's still a big deal for me.

Thanks Nick for the nice post. In the past, there was no problem for the Bobcats getting up for the griz game and I hope that is true for next week's game also. But there is now a key difference in MSU land. Even with such a young team and a lot of injuries, this team's goal was to win the BSC and go to the playoffs. There were a lot of truly disappointed kids and tears yesterday after the game. I hope they can regroup this week and end the season on a positive and build for next year. But no one should be mistaken that this program is on the rise and looks at much more than beating the griz as the sign of a successful season.

Good to hear you are still planning to make the trip out. I read some comments in today's Missoulian on how dissapointed even the Griz players were that MSU didn't hold on against EWU yesterday. I know the UM players will be just as jacked anyway. Alot is said about our teams, made up mostly of Montanans -- when the Big Sky Conference title has gone through Missoula and now Bozeman every year.

Do you think we can get 25,000 next week? UM students started camping out last night for tickets. What's the situation over there?

GO GRIZ!!!

There were about 200 people in line for tickets before they opened the doors, and that was like... a month ago or whatever. Sold out real fast, but that was only like 250 tickets for students.
