Re: Injuries (post Idaho game)
Nothing official on Danny Uluilakepa but Vigen’s voice was quaking a bit when he was talking about him and the play he went out on. Everyone on press row noticed it and we all talked about it after Vigen left the room. Vigen said Danny went out “in a blaze of glory.” He’s one of the most well liked players on the team.
Caden Dowler was dancing/shuffling around on the sideline in pregame. Again, no final word about him last night but I found it odd that he was doing that if he has a serious injury.

Blake & Paul did a big shoulder bump after his sack. I’m guessing he hasn’t had surgery yet.

Re: Injuries (post Idaho game)
I was starting to really worry partway through the 3rd last night. List of guys I saw limping off the field included: Bryce and Brody Grebe, Eiden, Moore, Miles Jackson, Taki and Danny U, Adam Jones, Scottre Humphrey, Colson Coon, Polidore and O'Reilly. Might have been a couple more coming off slow. I realize almost all played some more later but just gave me a sense of dread that the win was going to end up costing us a lot. Really hope Danny is ok.

Re: Injuries (post Idaho game)
College football seasons are such a grind for the players. It's an emotional game and it's so hard to be at your physical and emotional best every week. There is a reason that Weber State beats UM in Missoula and then loses to UNC at home the next week. Or that UCD needs a miracle to beat an inferior PSU team. As fans we like to see these games as whose the better team on paper but that is not always how the dynamics work on the field. There is no doubt about who the best team in the conference is at this point. The bobcats should be favored in every game this season. But just look back at any championship run and note how many undefeated seasons accompanied it, it's rare. The cats seem to have hit a peak this week with Idaho and I hope they can ride the wave. The bye week after PSU should help. These games are all hard and expect PSU to be salty and hungry after their road win in Pocatello.technoCat wrote: ↑Sun Oct 13, 2024 11:02 amI was starting to really worry partway through the 3rd last night. Danny U injury looked like it could be bad they were looking at his knee on the field, then he came out of halftime in streets.technoCat wrote: ↑Sun Oct 13, 2024 11:02 amI was starting to really worry partway through the 3rd last night. I watched the replay on Danny’s IG. I didn’t think anything during the play looked bad. Did I miss something?91catAlum wrote: ↑Sun Oct 13, 2024 11:41 amDanny U injury looked like it could be bad they were looking at his knee on the field, then he came out of halftime in streets.technoCat wrote: ↑Sun Oct 13, 2024 11:02 amI was starting to really worry partway through the 3rd last night. Re: Injuries (post Idaho game)
It wasn't the tackle. In fact, I was certain he was cramping in the moment. But then everything else happened. From the way the trainers were handling him, to the way he left the field, to his body language in street clothes in the second half, and finally to Vigen's choice of words in the presser. There hasn't been a formal announcement yet, but the clues point to a career ending injury. I hope I'm wrong.CodyCat wrote: ↑Sun Oct 13, 2024 12:18 pmI watched the replay on Danny’s IG. Re: Injuries (post Idaho game)
Hard to say. Whatever happened, it happened about 2 yards prior to him being tackled. Adrenaline is a hell of a drug, but whatever it was he felt it abruptly. One thing I know is, Vigen does not give much for details on injuries. If it’s season ending that will be announced I’d imagine my Wednesday, otherwise we will probably hear, ‘lower leg, or knee injury and we will be assessing week to week’, similar to what we heard with Snell last year.ClowderUp wrote: ↑Sun Oct 13, 2024 12:26 pmIt wasn't the tackle. Just rewatched the play. Nothing jumped out at me in terms if a hit or twist, but his acl sure didn’t look like it passed the on-field stability test with the trainers.

Re: Injuries (post Idaho game)
This is the most optimistic news so far. Obviously a lot of emotions, but that doesn't look like a guy that just found out he played his last snap of football.
First and goal, clock winding down. That's Humphrey! It's TOUCHDOWN MONTANA STATE!

Don't underestimate how much of a team player Danny U is...he will get up for his teammates...as a previous poster said...they did the ACL check on the field. Hoping for the best, because Danny diagnosis plays fast and takes incredible angles.

Re: Injuries (post Idaho game)
On the replay I watched his right leg kinda just went limp a bit and draggy…and then he was tackled. I think something snapped during the return not the tackle. I think it’s a bad deal.

Re: Injuries (post Idaho game)
Yeah, whatever happened appeared to be a non-contact injury which is rarely going to end up being good news.catsrback76 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 14, 2024 12:15 amOn the replay I watched his right leg kinda just went limp a bit and draggy…and then he was tackled. Re: Injuries (post Idaho game)
Unfortunately, this.
I saw the exact thing you did. Think it was the cut 2 steps before he got tackled, he slowed and knew something was wrong.
I’ve torn my acl, the test they did looked exactly the same, way loose.
Hope I’m wrong. What a stud, and a great bobcat.

Re: Injuries (post Idaho game)
I once tore my MCL pretty good. Much more generous of an injury, played the rest of the year with a giant brace, wish I never did as I have some issues with it now. Moral of the story, when injured I hope these guys really consider their totality of their life.BigBruceBaker wrote: ↑Mon Oct 14, 2024 7:30 amUnfortunately, this.

Re: Injuries (post Idaho game)
Bryce Grebe and Neil Daily have received most of the "next man up" reps so far. Not sure where Cole Bullock is at on the depth chart but he is not hurt. Ryan Krahe has also gotten a lot of run in these blowouts. I guess we'll see what the depth chart shows. McCade O'Reilly is now one of our most important players...arguably as important as Tommy is on offense.

Re: Injuries (post Idaho game)
Polidore coming back really almost washes Dowler getting hurt. Miles Jackson has played really well at nickel but that is where Caden would've rotated at if he was healthy along with Dru. Paul Brott answered any questions with his play about stepping in full-time for Blake.
