Best parts of his hudl vid was the numerous "short yardage plays" that went right behind him.JDoub wrote:Connor Floden just tweeted that he committed to MSU

If we go to a power run scheme, he might do alright. Any kind of zone and he's not playing, and he doesn't pull well. Decent size, but I'm not sure how much bigger he can get. Has really slow feet, but he's a mauler so that might work. Just depends on what scheme we run tbh. Pretty impressive get for a walk on from out of state.merff33 wrote:Best parts of his hudl vid was the numerous "short yardage plays" that went right behind him.JDoub wrote:Connor Floden just tweeted that he committed to MSU

Love how 75% of the highlights in that video end with a takedown. Dude plays to the whistle, and plays mean.
275 is plenty big as a C in this league.
Could work his way into a solid center in a few years.

Re: 2016 Montana State Recruiting (11 Verbals)
Talked to my coworker today about Blake Gregory, he said the kid is the real deal. But a pro style QB for sure, he said he isn't very mobile. Said no one is really recruiting him.
In the state semi-final against Lake Stevens, who features Georgia commit QB Jacon Eason, Gregory threw for 436 yards and 3 TDs on 22-28 passing. Eason went 32-42 for 390 yards and 2 TDs and an INT.
Would be a huge get IMO. A bit like Carson Wentz, not as tall.

Kid looks like a baller. I'll have to ask some friends around Seattle about him. But the kid put up some big numbers. I met Jacob Easton a couple summers ago at a BBQ in Seattle. We couldn't talk him into coming to MSU. Georgia's gain our loss. Blake Gregory looks like a damn nice player. I hope we get him.CelticCat wrote:Talked to my coworker today about Blake Gregory, he said the kid is the real deal. But a pro style QB for sure, he said he isn't very mobile. If you're a 275 C, you better have damn quick feet and excellent technique. This kid is a road grader. I don't think he could play C well at 275. Just my opinion. He'll obviously get bigger though, and like I said, good tape for a walk on.CelticCat wrote:Love how 75% of the highlights in that video end with a takedown. This kid would be a dynamite get.
We are also after his linemate Tanner Hawthorne. Both played on the championship Centennial High School team.

has several visits set up already
Worth mentioning that Steven Bailey holds offers from Air Force, Army, New Mexico, Northern Arizona, and Weber State
Would be a heck of a deal to get Hawthorne and Bailey

Re: 2016 Montana State Recruiting (12 Verbals)
I've added Dawonya Tucker back to the list per Colter's report.
What is a soft verbal?Dawonya Tucker is a soft verbal. He recinded his verbal commitment to MSU publicly but has given his verbal internally to a MSU coach according to a reliable source. But he has not recommitted publicly, making him a wait until signing day sort of player. To complicate matters, he does not have a cell phone so I have not been able to reach him personally. As of now, he continues to lean toward MSU.
Commitment: Also known as an oral commitment or verbal commitment. A recruit's pledge to the coaching staff that he intends to accept their scholarship offer and attend a specific institution. The pledge is non-binding until a National Letter-of-Intent is signed. If a prospect breaks off a commitment with one school to commit to another, it is called a de-commitment.
Silent commitment: A commitment made to the coaching staff of a specific school but not made public.
Soft commitment: A commitment in which the recruit will continue to take official visits to other schools.
