The Southland may not exist pretty soon. Central Arkansas is also leaving to join the Big South.

I would hate to see that happen. I have lived in Texas and Louisiana and enjoyed going to Southland Conference games. The fans at McNeese State are every bit as passionate as we are.BleedingBLue wrote: ↑Mon Feb 01, 2021 8:31 pmThe Southland may not exist pretty soon. The Atlantic Sun is now going to have football so I wonder if maybe those remaining Southland teams move there.imacat wrote: ↑Mon Feb 01, 2021 8:51 pmI would hate to see that happen. You have to disregard the attendance Numbers entirely. The NCAA doesn't enforce them and the schools get to determine what goes into attendance Numbers, free tickets, bands, press passes and officials, news crews and make believe fans.Bobcat4Ever wrote: ↑Sun Jan 17, 2021 12:01 amI can’t wrap my head around them being an FBS team. Aren’t there attendance requirements, etc.? Southern Utah has an enrollment of 11,000 in a town of 35,000 in a county of 54,000. The area is growing rapidly, but nothing just seems to say FBS. I thought it was a stretch when they moved to the Big Sky with FCS, but they’ve done okay some of the time. They sponsor 6 men’s teams and 9 women’s teams. I know FBS applies to the football program, but when I think of that designation I think of a school particularly in a much bigger city. I agree, proximity to Dixie State may be a strong attraction. But it’s a long way to Texas to play volleyball, just like it is to Portland State. I guess after all the travails of the WAC, I’ll believe it when and if I see it.rivercat wrote: ↑Sat Jan 16, 2021 8:21 pmGood list but they are not going FBS regardless of their stated goal. I'd add that Dixie State is a big attraction.Montanabob wrote: ↑Sat Jan 16, 2021 1:59 pm1. Basketball
2. Possible FBS in the future.
3. Not playing Montana State or UM in conference play.
4. Not playing in Montana or eastern washington in Nov.
5. Shorter travel and better air fair connections.
6. Playing in texas in November.
