The hit doesnt look that dirty to me. It was low but he dove for him which isnt uncommon.

I assume it's the twist at the end after he was already down.

He dove at his knees and that's a penalty in Canada and NFL. So for that he got 2 game suspension. He also was handed a one game suspension for racial taunting comments to the QB on the ground injured. To top it off he got another game suspension for a previous play when he did some nasty stuff to an offensive lineman on the ground.

I’ve certainly seen worse. The blocker shoved him hard in the back which lowered his trajectory. He pretty much wrapped up his ankles. It certainly wasn’t from the side. It sounds like his actions after the play are what really got him in trouble.

Speaking of TA. Hypothetically let's say the flat out cancel the season. We already knew he wasn't playing at all (most likely) in 2020. Looking at 2021, let's say he's still healing up and getting to 100%... and we reserve him for just four games, likely Cat Griz and maybe playoffs, and he comes back and plays his entire Sr. season in 2022. Is that doable?

I say hell no. He is going to play in the NFL. No way he or Choate play him only 4 games to have him come back again. 2021 will be his last season as a Bobcat regardless of what happens this season.

I think his chances of getting drafted or getting a roster spot as an UDFA increase if he stays at MSU through the 2022 season but I doubt he stays that long. He probably needs more than one full season as a LB to get a real shot in the NFL just based on the current scouting environment. I could see the Pats picking him up to play fullback though.

Reminds me of when Chris Petersen had his Boise State headhunting Masoli and the rest of the Oregon team in 2008. First offensive drive for Oregon and a deliberate head shot that put Masoli on the bench.

Part of that after the game in 2009 was retaliation for 2008’s injured Oregon players.

Byron Hout barely played in the game, ran his mouth, and got his answer. Talk sh*t after a game, these things happen.

Notice Hout’s assault/shove of Blount with Blount not looking from the side, talk some smack, and at that point Blount retaliated. I thought the narrative on it was ridiculous. Byron clearly shoved Blount, said something (maybe borderline racist I’ve heard but have no first-hand knowledge or audio) and got a smack in his yapper.

Legally, that’s self-defense but the narrative is Blount was an out of control Black man picking on a white farm guy.

Whatever happened to that Hout guy? Didn’t he coach somewhere?
