Bobcat athletics is a business to the coaches, school leadership, and players. It's time the fans treat Bobcat athletics as a business too.

Akron was one of only three football programs to hit a multi-year APR rate low enough to miss the postseaso across all of Division I. Mississippi Valley State and UAPB in the FCS ranks will also be ineligible for postseason play. Florida A&M, Missouri State, Murray State and Utah Tech all received practice time reductions for low APR rates.

Re: Random stuff 2025
I can't imagine the kind of maths that go into APR now - in the portal era. Like, it seems that a few one semester players last year or several over the last four years couldcould potentially tank a school's APR. Even if they had a 4.0 at previous school(s) but don't graduate 'on time.'Montanabob wrote: ↑Wed May 07, 2025 5:37 amAkron was one of only three football programs to hit a multi-year APR rate low enough to miss the postseaso across all of Division I. And I'm an engineer - gives me a headache
"Teams that fail to achieve an APR score of 930—equivalent to a 50% graduation rate—may be penalized. A perfect score is 1000. The scores are calculated as follows:
Each student-athlete receiving athletically related financial aid earns one retention point for staying in school and one eligibility point for being academically eligible. A team's total points are divided by the points possible and then multiplied by 1000 to yield the team's APR score.
Example: An NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) team awards the full complement of 85 grants-in-aid. If 80 student-athletes remain in school and academically eligible, three remain in school but are academically ineligible and two drop out academically ineligible, the team earns 163 of 170 possible points for that term. Divide 163 by 170 and multiply by 1000, yielding the team's APR for that term: 959.[8]
The NCAA calculates the rate as a rolling, four-year figure that takes into account all the points student-athletes could earn for remaining in school and academically eligible during that period. Teams that do not earn an APR above specific benchmarks face penalties ranging from scholarship reductions to more severe sanctions like restrictions on scholarships and practice time."

I did catch that part of it, but wasn't sure of that other significance there was. Assuming that might be Herrin's kid? Also the whimper at the end... lol.
Great time to be a BOBCAT!
