Montana Recruits 2016

But both of those boys are good to go on their verbals. I'm surprised there is no Payton O'Reilly action. Also, there are about 15 more kids from Montana that could be preferred walk-on candidates. It was a deep linebacker/defensive line crop this year.

I really want to see Chapman, Benson, and Hadley commit. That would put a nice exclamation point on our in state class this year. Any after that would be icing on the cake.

After watching the tape over and over again, I'm starting to believe that Kyle Finch is the biggest underrated player in this class. He just gets after it and has the frame to add on weight at 6'4", 215 lbs. right now. He reminds me of Wagenmenn out of high school.

The Finch family are definitely a Griz household. Right when Gregorak flipped, Finch started follow MSU coaches on twitter.

I would say Dallas Mack is fast enough to play safety and has the size as well. Already takes better angles then some I have seen. Not sure he will be a Bobcat but he will be playing football somewhere next year. Very smart player and if he was playing AA he would probably be higher on the radar. Nathan Dick is an excellent athlete and I think may be better fitted for the slot on offense. He was an excellent defensive player in Junior High but since being with Senior and focusing on QB he hasn't played a down of defense that I know of. Guarantee he will want to play for the Cats. Still a year to wait on him though. Another Junior out of Billings is Ryan Davis. Great size at linebacker but may be a defensive end too. We all should remember his brother Leo. Gabe Sulser is only a sophomore and is small but I have never seen another player like him. Just explosive and runs through so many arm tackles. Have no idea how he would lean.

...and at this point last year we had 3-4 verbals. We already have 10. Perspective my friends.

So if Armstrong is more like Mac, will Chase Barta be looked at again? Chase was recruited heavily by Mac when he was here; Eck basically told him that he didn’t consider him as a PWO. I know he has committed to Tech, time will tell.

I've seen plenty of Dane and I just don't see it. I'm not a D1 recruiter but I don't feel he's good enough.

I've never seen him play, so I have to agree with you guys. But what is the reasoning? He has some incredible stats for sure, although I know that doesn't tell the whole story sometimes

I agree on Dane, would be a good NAIA QB. Just not the arm strength needed to play up. I have also seen a few attitude issues pop up in the past, that can't be helping. I really think his future actually is on the basketball court

I totally agree, he is one of my little brother's good friends, and I have watched Dane plenty in basketball and sparingly in football, due to bobcat football. He isn't Big Sky caliber, frankly it isn't even close. My comparison is the White kid from Shelby who now plays at Rocky.White was a prized recruit for the griz and he quit before the season started.

Your correct spring, the arm is lacking and his mobility is really lacking. White struggles with both of these things at Rocky and Dane is very similar in size and style. I mean real similar.
