If Gilman's fumble doesn't go OB, I think Cats could have been up 17 at half and it would have turned to a blowout. Same with Wortham fumble. Seemed like every break and Big penalty was going Griz way. Until Dowler's pick. Got that, got the hold on their TD,then blocked FG. Even with the long TD by Gillman Cats still controlled destiny and unlike SDSU they were not going to fail. Such improvement since beginning of year. They respond all the time.

Turns out experiencing adversity early helps grow a team more than running up the score against D2 teams

Would love a rematch in Bozeman. Griz D had zero answers for the run game when it mattered. If the defense tackles better, we may win by much more.

Did you hear Adam Jones after the game? He said they had a team meeting after the loss to SDSU and decided that would not happen again. This team is laser focused on their goals, are playing together, and love each other. This may just be the team that wins the NC.

I’m gonna call this another learning experience. We survived because we’re the better team but lots of things to learn from this game. Hopefully a couple of our posters will learn as well as they were more embarrassing than the teams missed tackles.

You must be new to the rivalry. There have been stretches where one team was a lot more “dominant”. Quick google search my dude. See you in December. Tough to beat a good team twice…

Beating a ‘good’ team twice in a season is myth. Last time I looked, if the better team one the first game, they have an about the same margin to win the second go. This typically is said when a good team is upset by a bad team in season and turn around and stomp the bad team during the second meeting. A good example would be when the Griz beat NDSU in 2015, then got hammered by NDSU in the playoffs, the bad team won the first showing and during the second nature corrected itself.

Yeah. Assuming 2 teams are evenly matched and the odds are 50-50, it makes sense. Of course that second game is still 50-50.

But the Pandas were 3 point dogs at home in this game. So they'd be more like 10 point dogs in a rematch. 10 point underdogs still win about 25% of the time, but its a much bigger lift for the gris to come to Bozeman & pull off the upset than it was for the gris to win at home.
