I'm gonna just wait until signing day to post anything. I mean we're this close. If I knew for a fact that Wilcoxen was a PWO, I would post it. But it also looks like he just wants to walk-on to the football team so that could mean in the fall of 2016. And the potential new running back commit from Texas, I'm waiting on that one as well.

This was the 3-star corner we had in over the weekend. He decided on Hawaii. As of right now, the only two secondary players (corners and safeties) we have commitments from are Damien Washington (2-star) and Naijiel Hale (transfer; former 4-star). Unless our coaches plan on moving more depth to the safety position, I am scratching my head on why we aren't currently adding any high schoolers to the position. Hoping for some surprises on signing day. Here is my post on the secondary going into next season from another page:

Even if we don't get the Tolliver kid, I'm actually feeling fine about our cornerback depth. Wouldn't be surprised to see a few of these guys move to safety because....

West Wilson - Jr. (5'11", 200)
Brayden Konkol - Rfr. (6'1", 200)

Not sure but King may be back with the team. Choate did follow him on twitter. I guess we will see this spring. The kid was put into a tough spot last year with unrealistic expectations put on his shoulders (along with other young freshman). Cannot believe Ash & Co. couldn't build better depth in the secondary over the last two years because it hurt us. King was not ready yet and it showed. Especially in the secondary, kids need time to develop. When you look back at the defense last year, it really is astonishing how young we were at so many key positions without any depth behind them.

Anyway, we have not landed a safety yet in recruiting and that definitely surprises me. We definitely offered some good ones but we didn't bring one in on a visit. It seems like a big DT and a safety were the two positions that Choate feels he can get a drop-down because I am not comfortable as a fan with either the DT and Safety depth. I have very high hopes for Brayden Konkol but Garcia and McCabe cannot do it all by themselves this year. Even though they were our best options at safety last year over King and Carter, they still had their fair share of learning moments. I thought Garcia improved throughout the year and he plays with tremendous passion. McCabe definitely improved his coverage skills, which were a weak point in his game coming onto the team. We need quality depth here and I hope we bring on outside talent before fall camp.

Yeah, the lack of DT and safety's has definitely been a head scratcher... Maybe they have plans for some dropdowns/transfers. Plus there could always be some signing day surprises, players we didn't know about...

Spoke with Wilcoxen last night. He is not a PWO or a scholarship player. He has been accepted to Montana State and will try to walk on to the football team via tryouts in the fall. He will not sign in any form on Wednesday.

Barring any drastic change, Simpson will sign with Montana State on Wednesday.
