I think you should take this issue to Peter Fields and get coach Ash fired.... Oh wait a minute??????

I like now how there are legitimate excuses for the new staff but Ash not so much. Coaching is coaching and everyone is pressed for time. It's only been a week "New Recruits" relax and wait a bit or reach out to the new staff if your nervous. They can still talk to you over the phone over the dead period. Advocate for yourself!!!

Don't get me wrong, I love the new hire and will continue supporting MSU as always but some of you on this board just amaze me.

Rules of the Dead Period:
During the dead period, the college coach cannot have any in person contact with the athlete or their parents. The coach is however still legally able to write and call recruits to show them that they are still interested.

Did I quote the "dead period" rules wrong Vim?

Nope. Just decided to quote them again. Thats all.

Sorry for going off last night. Just seeing a kid like that irritates me. And most of you guys missed the point. But I am past it and it doesn't need to continue. But I have moved on and just looking forward to the rest of this offseason and what it all brings.

Totally fair. Recruitment after coaching changes can be difficult and Choate had to get everything done in one week. However, I understand where a kid like Sean is coming from. I'm glad Pitre at least contacted him because his primary recruiter was Rider. I'm glad his position coach got in contact with him. Hopefully a phone call will come soon from the big guy.

Karl Tucker II - Senior Year Tape!

6'1", 205 lbs. WR

Karl had himself a senior season and a great overall high school career. Karl was the best overall receiver in Montana his senior season going over 1,000 yards receiving and led AA in touchdown receptions and yards (regular season). I have him ranked ahead of guys like Griz commit Jed Nagler and recruit Jacob Hadley because he does everything well. He makes contested catches, has great hands (watch the first highlight), runs hard after the catch (strong), shows great open field ability, shows a willingness to block, and he is versatile playing three positions his senior year. He originally started at QB his senior season but CMR switched him out with Lane Jensen and moved him back out to receiver. The move may have saved CMR's season and playoff hopes. I have him ranked as the third best player in Montana. Jed Nagler is a better athlete but as a wide receiver, Karl Tucker is more savvy and versatile with almost as much athletic ability as Nagler. The tape doesn't lie when you compare the two. Karl is also a standout basketball player. I'm glad we have a verbal from him.

From what I can tell Chase Benson and Balue Chapman are the only remaining in-staters that have a scholarship. I think both of them are waiting to see how recruiting for some FBS teams shakes out and then will decide then. Might be pretty silent in state for a little bit . . . Jacob Hadley (WR, 6-6) out of Billings Central may get an offer soon, I would expect him to commit to MSU

Echoing what Bozcat003 said, Balue and Chase hold offers from us and are staying patient for possible FBS opportunities. But we are in the driver seat for both. Jacob Hadley, the 6'6", 210 lbs receiver from Billings Central has been in contact with all the MSU coaches after an initial Griz push and appears to be getting close to committing to us. As for others on my board, two good defensive recruits, Cole Rosling (Helena Capital - DE) and Kyle Finch (Dillon - DE/LB) have gotten interest since Choate took over. Rosling is a 6'4", 225 lbs DE who was the Western AA defensive MVP with 16 sacks this year. Finch is a 6'4", 210 lbs DE/LB and was the Co-Defensive MVP of the Southwestern A conference. Both are on that half scholly to PWO offer range in my opinion but are right up there as some of the best defensive recruits in Montana.

Payton O'Reilly and Trace Bradshaw, the other two Bozeman boys, do not hold offers from us and I think they both want scholly offers. The Griz have showed interest in them as well but I don't think Bradshaw has a D1 offer. O'Reilly may hold some sort of offer from Montana but he is after a full-ride. I think he is an excellent linebacker but Kane and Co. must think differently.

Two Class B linebackers (Jace Lewis and Trase LeTexier) are both kids who I don't think are going to get scholarship offers from either school. Both come from Griz families but they both follow Bobcat coaches. Preferred walk-on territory for them.

I'm almost done with a position breakdown but it may be a bit over-kill because the secondary and quarterback positions are weak this year out of Montana. Dane Warp is an excellent high school quarterback but his slight frame and arm strength seem to not be doing him any favors. Has no scholarship offers from either school and has received interest from Dartmouth of the Ivy League. Also a good basketball player. No real secondary recruits out of this class mostly due to speed issues. Dallas Mack out of Huntley could be a PWO kid but will get offers from NAIA schools. Tanner Campbell out of Belgrade played some good secondary defense the past few years but again speed comes up. FauntLeRoy from Whitefish is in the top 25 but speed is a factor. He has the body for this level. My top 25 basically covers the major recruits out of Montana this year based off who coaches follow from both schools.

Have you heard anything about Dallas Cook out of Butte? He set multiple records and won a state championship but went the JUCO route due to grades.

Has not been that impressive at the JUCO ranks. Dallas just isn't a Division 1 athletes in my opinion.

I think Hadley would be a great one. He comes from a great family, his sister is at MSU and he has been a Cat fan for as long as I can remember

I agree Vim. I've followed him closely since he left Butte. He had a great Freshman year and lived up to the hype. His sophomore campaign has been quite disappointing. Numbers were down in all categories and he was only around 50% for completion percentage. Not sure what his options will be bit D1 football would be a stretch.

Stitt has gotten on the Balue train as he started to follow Chapman, Bradshaw, and Cole Rosling. None of our coaches follow Bradshaw. Choate and Hout follow Rosling. Nearly all of them follow Chapman....everyone follows Chapman. What does this mean? The Griz also want him. That is all it means.

Unfortunately I am not surprised. Has great physical tools but his work ethic has always been questionable. If he ever got serious, at 6'7" and 240+ pounds, he could have been special.

I can see Dallas Cook being the second coming of Jared Lorenzen. No NFL career but living it up in the arena football league

Long time William & Mary commit Hank Hughes recently de-committed.

Hope Choate goes after him. Holds offers from Coastal Carolina, Eastern Washington, Liberty, Montana State, North Dakota State, Northern Arizona, William & Mary, Colgate, Eastern Michigan, Northern Iowa, and Northwestern State

Would be a solid addition in my opinion.
