I thought the same thing. He broke the game into thirds in his article. I get why, but still a bit confusing if you don’t go read the articleJohn K wrote: ↑Sun Dec 21, 2025 3:44 amYeah, I'm not sure what he's talking about. It was actually the 1st and 4th quarters that we dominated. It was 7-7 in the 3rd, 21-0 in the 4th.

I would sure hope that when Bobby goes and watches the replay that he'll realize that was clearly a targeting call."The targeting call on third down you can say what you want about that, I know what I think,” Hauck said.

What a day yesterday. Just a surreal day. The fireworks at the end were amazing.

I listened to it last night and it made me laugh. He never said the words Bobcats or MSU though. Just complimented Vigen and the staff on really coaching up what is evidently a team of average players.Clinton T wrote: ↑Sat Dec 20, 2025 10:18 pmDid anyone catch the backhanded "compliment" Bobby gave the Cats at the beginning of his post-game presser?
"I think he (Vigen) and the coaching staff here got the absolute most out of the talent they have on that football team. I'm impressed with the coaching job they did."
Such a Bobby thing to do...taking a swipe at the talent level of the team that just beat them. That is going to go over well with future in-state recruits. Smh.
Vintage Hauck.
Oh, and we did beat his team of above average players. Ha!

A few Hauck classic things done during the interview:msugr8 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 21, 2025 9:42 amI listened to it last night and it made me laugh. He never said the words Bobcats or MSU though. - no MSU, Bobcats, or Bozeman said (like you mentioned).
- only credited coaches and not a single player
- UM set the standard for the conference and MSU tried “desperately” to catch up. To his credit, he said they have but it was a backhanded compliment for sure.
- Disagreed with a textbook targeting. (excuse)
- Insinuated that MSU had an NIL head start and now things are pretty equal (excuse)
- Losing Davis and Shaffer (sp.?) was a big blow to their game plan. An excuse, yes, but I’d give this one some serious validity.
- This is classic Hauck, but the good part of him: lots of love and credit to his players. As a player for him, I’d love that. I don’t think saying super positive things about his players is him saying MSU guys weren’t. I think people read way too much into that.

I could honestly give two craps what Bobby had to say. What I know with absolute certainty is that this loss will keep him up at night for years and years. And honestly, #good.

I really don't get Bobby choosing to argue about the targeting. Not only was it the most textbook example of targeting I think I've ever seen, we didn't even score on that drive. I do actually feel for Davis and Shafer but those were clean tackles. No ill intent at all.

The ending of the on-field post game interview was awesome.
"Coach, do you like country music?"
"I love it, yes." With a massive smile on his face.

It should be used as a training clip for officials on what targeting looks like.technoCat wrote: ↑Sun Dec 21, 2025 10:35 amI really don't get Bobby choosing to argue about the targeting. Changed the headline, didn't mean for stanzas to imply quarters, that's my fault. It was a game of thirds. 20-20-20. That's what I mean.John K wrote: ↑Sun Dec 21, 2025 3:44 amYeah, I'm not sure what he's talking about. It was actually the 1st and 4th quarters that we dominated. Fellas, the Cats absolutely boat raced those fricken losers yesterday. MSU in every measurable category has buried um. It’s time to stop comparing MSU to um. It’s an absolute disservice to everything MSU is doing and has going. MSU passed them years ago. And has buried them so deep it’s unfair to MSU to mention um in the same breath.

Yes, it was an easy call. But he didn't see it that way. Always excuses. Let them talk about the streak, the Mecca, and all of the wins they piled up decades ago but in the last ten years, the Cats have dominated winning 8 of 10.
