U of Texas is such a cluster F...this won’t work out well. That alumni base is insane. They get out recruited by OU in their own state. The team is more concerned with taking political stances than winning games. The entire town, as awesome as it is, is on a downward spiral. It’s in the early stages of what Portland, OR has become. Hate the move!

Long time reader, first time poster here... the kids, the community, and the university are and always will be the only constants in college sports. Coaches are nothing more than interchangeable gypsies looking for their next job. Choate, Kane and others enjoy these opportunities because of your continued support of the school and program. To the next staff I say welcome and take care of our boys, to those leaving I say good luck and don't let the door hit you in the ass.

I’m going to go on record and say something broke in the Athletic Department. This move doesn’t compute for Choate. I completely get Ioane moving on, but Choate for a lb coach job? Goofy as hell.

Good luck to him and thanks for all the memories and dedication.
I know people that are close friends with the entire Choate family back in Idaho, and well, Choate taking this job is contrary to EVERYTHING I have heard from them. I’ll try to find out what’s going on if I can.

Don't let this distract you from the fact that the griz blew a 22-0 lead.

Looks like the players found out via Twitter too.

Bobcat athletics is a business to the coaches, school leadership, and players. It's time the fans treat Bobcat athletics as a business too.

I guess he realized being a head coach at the FCS level isn't a stepping stone to becoming a head coach at the FBS level and had to revert back to the traditional route. Whether or not we agree with the decision or respect it we'll never forget the last four seasons. Go Cats!

Eastwood, did not make it. Ball out! Recovered, by Montana State!! The Bobcats hold!!! The Bobcats hold!!!

Don’t blame him, I would leave Bozeman as well. The whole city is ran by a bunch of spineless bureaucrats that wouldn’t know a good thing if it sat on their face.

Congrats coach Choate you deserve it, good luck buddy.

Of all the people to hook my wagon to ... Steve Sarkisian would be at the bottom of my list. This is a real head scratcher.

I don't get this one, at all. He's basically back to where he was at UW, at a slightly more prestigious place. As others have said, this doesn't sit right; something happened this week. All hands not on deck for canceling spring season? That's a wild-ass guess but i can't make sense of it otherwise.

Why are you even a fan at this point? Just stay out of Bozeman and Bobcat stadium if you hate it so much.

I don't know. As some others have stated here, something bad must have happened between Choate and Costello or Crusado.

Nah, he was all in on the Spring cancelation. He wanted to play at least a few games last Fall though. I know he doesn’t care for the Big Sky conference leadership and had been frustrated with them.

If he doesn’t win a conference championship, at the minimum, in 4 years, he’s out.

Side note - he’s not winning a conference championship in the next 4 years.
