CB, can you expand on this a bit?

He is on our roster now and was a DT in Tacoma and was all city weighing only 245?

This could could potentially be a great pickup for our DL if he moves to the other side. I've never even heard of the kid.

Maybe Colter could shed some light.

That's about all I found. Odd he went from 290 down to 245. Unless he got hurt or fell ill and lost weight. He played OL and DT in HS.

Abolutely crazy how kids like this fall through the cracks and then just turn up. Seems to happen all the time. Hope he moves back to the d and helps us out there!

I found the following: He made the All city team as DT as a junior. http://www.tacomaweekly.com/sports/view ... ball-team/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
He had 3 sacks and 27 tackles.

NorthWest Elite Index had him rated as the #9 offensive lineman in WA prior to the season. http://www.northwesteliteindex.com/2013 ... n-johnson/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

And, also, Klein threw the shot and discus: http://www.athletic.net/TrackAndField/A ... ID=2888810" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

It looks like he didn't get any scholarship offers so he came to MSU for engineering and walked on. I don't know why the roster lists him at 245, of course, it lists Devin Jeffries at 214 and he hasn't weighed that much since he came to Bozeman. He's probably 240.

Cozzie was 2nd team all state at inside LB and special teams. He also played some RB. He was HM at LB as a junior. Good size at 6-1, 220.

Walker's Dad, BJ was a walk-on (I believe) for the Cats. He transferred to Carroll where he became an all conference fullback for Bob Petrino Sr.

First post guys! Did any of you watch Cozzie's tape? I did and it looks like a no-brainer to me! Size, speed, plays with great leverage, and pops the ball carrier nearly every hit. Shows signs of Singleton in his ability to get in the backfield. I think it is a huge get for the Cats regardless of his All-State status! Plus I love Montana born linebackers. As for not getting any "high-profile" players, the best ones usually take time to make a decision so I wouldn't expect to hear anything until January visits and after. Gotta love recruiting season warming up!

Cozy. I went to school with his dad BJ. Good guy and was a pretty good athlete back at Capital in the late 80's. Started at OT during our championship year of 87 and switched back to his normal position of FB for his senior season and started at OLB.

I had the opportunity to do color for two of Capital's games this year. Cozzie played very well, glad he is a Cat!

Due to having a bad year, CHS has some sleepers on their team. Cozzie is definitely one of them. I heard people talking about him when he was a freshman. Another good CHS player is Sean Mulcahy, who is a very good athlete and comes from a long line of athletes in his family. He's a steal for a Frontier team, but I think he's FCS material.

MSU - 16 team National Champions (most recent 2024); 57 individual National Champions (most recent 2023).

What position(s) does he play?

He played WR, but he's an athlete and I see him as a safety. He broke the school record for catches in a season with 60. CHS doesn't pass a lot normally, but they were behind most of the time.

Another tape that I compare Cozzie's to is Grant Collins. Both play with great pad level and tackle people with the mentality of "when I hit you, it's over." We need about 4 solid linebacker recruits in this class and we already have two. A great start! I also heard that Prevost has been in Bozeman this entire semester living with one or two of the players, trying to gain eligibility for next semester. That has to be encouraging!
