Nice in-state punch back from the Cats after losing out on Clay Oven. Hayden Opitz also was a big get by the Griz but MSU never offered (for reasons I'll never understand). Focus is now turned to "who gets Cole Taylor" for the last big in-state battle.

Is Cole Taylor set on playing QB in college? I only ask because with the backlog of underclassmen QB we have and the commitment of Chance Wilson now, it could look to Cole that UM has a better chance for him to start there in the future. Granted, I have no idea what the Gris QB situation looks like. Just hoping to start discussion.

Griz QB situation is similar. Carson Rostad was the #2 QB and player in the state behind Tommy Mellott a few years ago and now he's on track to become a starting LB in a year. Callahan O'Reilly came to MSU as a QB but ended up on defense in a year. Cole is a really strong kid with good athleticism. He isn't a poor thrower by any means and he could compete at QB at this level but I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up on defense if he goes to either in-state school. Cole also could be a weapon as a short-yardage running QB too. Anyway, he's put a lot into improving his passing and Vigen/Housewright like him a lot.

Vigen announced Zambrano left the team on August 5th but thanks for this breaking news, I’ll be sure to pass it along to the rest of the staff who may not know yet.

I mean, yes this is the first report of him entering the portal but like I said he left the team right before fall camp started and it was reported by the Montana media already. Likely he left the team before August 5th, that's just when it was announced.
