These are all written by people like me. They don’t go to camps, they get all their info from Twitter, it’s dubious at best. If it’s not coming from a beat writer, just ignore it.
Hondo and Levi both have some camp access and have been writing about the team for years. Doesn’t mean they’re correct, but there is usually some substance behind their articles.

That said, they are just putting out content and have no actual inside information other than some observations and whatever sources they still have inside the building.
The coaches probably don’t even have a good idea of just what’s up. Reminds me of when Kramer would do an interview at this point of camp. His response: “ask me in a couple weeks. We can’t even get lined up right now.”

Raiders depth chart for Thursday. Guessing that Tommy will be getting a lot of returns and a chance to quickly move up the depth chart for those roles. The guys ahead of him are key offensive players and ideally won’t be returning kicks this season. Also, Tommy at best is 7th on the WR roster. Es going to need to shine on special teams to make the 53 IMO.

So that depth chart indicates 4th string? That's how it appears, but I suppose preseason will include many rotations.
With all the Jeanty hype, I'm betting teams will gun for him. Seems silly to put him on kick and punt return too.

Based on that depth chart, my best guess is that the Raiders want Tommy to win one of the return jobs. Everyone other than McCormick is a starter, and he’s going to be the backup RB. Putting any of those guys back to return in the preseason would be crazy, so here’s hoping Mellott gets some chances Thursday. Pressure is on now to make a case for the 53.

Zero chance there are three players on that roster at both the KR and PR positions that have the complete package\skillset that Tommy does. I'm not just saying that because I'm a huge Bobcat\Tommy fan. Looking at his raw speed, quickness, power, toughness, not to mention crazy football instincts, IQ, and unmatched drive and work ethic... guarantee he's on that roster if he gets a chance to prove himself in the return game.

Great time to be a BOBCAT!
