I would think that if no one is covering the game, then there won't be any TV cameras there. No cameras means no Big Sky TV coverage either.
I was thinking radio, that's how we got all the games in Sidney. But for some reason none of the radio stations in Grand Forks carry the game.
Are there any radiostations that broadcast the game online?

To an extent, I've got to agree with Brick.
This is an opportunity to build interest in the MSU FB program. You don't build interest with those who are already interested (i.e., those of us who will be there). You build it with other Montanans. Especially on this great weekend of Montana College FB (Griz, Carroll and Cats all with home playoff games).
That being said, I don't think it is the Universities "fault" at this point. My guess is that MSU is working feverishly to secure coverage, but only after a certain amount of tickets are sold. If we cross the magic threshold of tickets sold (whatever that is) and we still don't have TV coverage, then a certain amount of responsibility needs to fall with MSU, but not all of it - there are only so many TV outlets with the capability to cover games in MT.
I guess my point is that we should wait until later in the week before we start "throwing stones" at MSU for no TV coverage. And even then, they should probably only be "pebbles".

If for some reason you can't find the MSU online broadcast, you can get the Furman broadcast on Yahoo.

I didn't get the chance to discuss this with him in person, so no reason given, but here is the response I got from the athletic department by e-mail.
Me: What's the scoop on the TV coverage.
AAD: There will be no TV coverage on Saturday.
Me: By no do you mean no chance, or don't know yet?
AAD: No Chance!!
Again, I didn't talk to him in person to get a reason but believe me, I know these guys and they have been working their asses off to make it happen since Sunday.
Based on the reply, however I don't think this is a ploy to get butts in the seats. I just don't think Max Media or any other outlet was willing to pull it off on such short notice.
I guess I'll have to leave my family at home and make the trek. The kid has BBall practice in Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

This must be a ploy to sell more tickets.
All of Carroll College's playoff games have been televised for crissakes. Certainly MSU can figure out a way to make this happen.
I believe no annoucement has been made on the UM game either so waiting until enough tickets are sold sounds reasonable at this point. If UM has coverage there will be no excuse for MSU not having coverage as well.

I can think of about 16 consecutive excuses.
I don't like it, but it's an uphill battle and we have a long way to go.

Nearly every MSU football game has been broadcast over the last several years ... I think that particular hill has been climbed, and the old streak doesn't have much to do with things at this point.

Yes, they've been televised on cable, but not on network television like the Griz. You don't think that if a particular statewide station has a choice between the two games, they will pick the Griz? And that the reason they will pick the Griz is the streak? Cuz I do.

Take it however you want, but I think the response leaves no doubt. Not saying miracles can't happen, but at this time I don't think this is some kind of conspiracy against the fans.
Sorry, but I'm just passing on what I received.

Not true this year. Almost every bobcat game was televised on "free" TV, AKA, KFBB in Great Falls, and the other stations affiliated with Max Media. The happened to be on Bresnan, yes, but no different than KPAX and the other Stations who picked up Griz games statewide.

I have a hard time believing the excuse of "not enough time" to get a game scheduled. We've had pretty much every first round home game on TV over the last few years. Furman actually produces a lot of them, you just have to "buy" the air time. If MSU really wanted to do it, they could do it. It really isn't all that expensive to telecast a game.

Can't they put together something with the Film and TV department?

Not that this doesn't just mean it hasn't been updated, but the MSU site still has the TV for the playoff game marked as "TBD." Until I hear someone official from them saying there will NOT be TV coverage, I will remain hopeful that there is something in the works.

I seem to remember a lot of games on TV from the first round last year, but maybe I'm just imagining things. Maybe it was the 2nd round games that I watched most of the day.

Agreed, I don't think the excuse is not enough time...and if that is the public excuse it is BS. Our two first round games in 02 and 03 were both on the road and we had TV for those with our own announcers. If it can happen 1000 miles from MT, it could happen here. Who knows what the real reasoning is.

Again, I don't know the reason and will not speculate here. Just know that I have a close affiliation, and have no reason to question what I see as a very cut and dried answer straight from the department.
I'm sure the print media will have more information as to the reason in the next day or so, but I'm getting my ticket and accomodations, and will make the 800 mile round trip. I would suggest that any others who are able should consider this as well, if you want to "see" the game rather than just listen to it.
It suck's, but that where we're at. Hope I'm wrong.

I'm not challenging your source ... I'm just blindly hoping that it isn't completely correct until an official announcement either dashes my hopes or fulfills my wishes.

There's no doubt that this is a bit of a surprise to the university. They are struggling with getting people in to work the student dorms in the way of hall monitors, cooks for the cafeteria to feed the students that are here because of it. Heck, all of the people working the ticket booth are not the regulars as they had given them the week off to go home.
My point is that perhaps the tv stations are experiencing similar things in that it is Thanksgiving. So, maybe they can't get crews together to come up here in time?
Totally baseless and with some degree of ignorance. But, I thought I'd throw in my $.02.
