I'll agree 100 % on Earl killing MSU's recruiting of Montana kids, but totally disagree when you mention Hys. Cliff spent a great deal of time on the road trying to mend the bridges that Earl had destroyed with Montana coaches and brought in Damberger and Salo to help in that effort. A lot of the bridges that Earl destroyed had been repaired by the time Krames was hired.Belgrade Big Dog wrote:I think we would all love to see more Montana kids on our roster. I would guess that the graduation rate of Montana kids is nearly double that of out of state kids. And I would love to see the GPA comparison.
But just remember. Earl and Cliff literally destroyed MSU's recruiting of Montana kids, to the point that high school coaches despised them. That's an entire generation of Montana atheletes. All the time, Don Read was doing just the opposite.
The Big Human has tipped the scales the other way, and for that, I am greatful. I still support him 100%, even though I've been so pee'd off the past two Saturdays. I am not fan of Don Bailey's, and never have been. He just doesn't seem to be able to make needed adjustments during the coarse of a game.

Ya know, some of us Griz fans are also Cat fans and are only trying to figure out what the ehll happend. Are you so ignorant to not look at the genuine concern that some of us Griz fans have for the Cats.... we are State of Montana teams man.... if we can't try to figure out what is going on then we'll shut up... I for one am embarrassed by the Cats loss... There needs to be changes whatever they may be but what I see for the most part is folks trying to do some brainstorming on what the team could/should do, looks bad for the whole damn state.. not just a few Cat fans... I want the Cats to be in the playoff hunt each and every year like the Griz. I think that would be the greatest fun ever. I don't want to see the Cats lose, especially to teams that the Cats should kick arse. If it isn't more Montana players the Cats need then for Heaven's sake what the ehll is it??? Get off the anger trip and lets figure out how the Cats can be helped not diss each other.....CelticCat wrote:You are just the typical Griz fan troll.

Cats need more players from Montana.
Is it Kramer, his recruiting, the team's mental condition, lack of local (MT) players, the team's commitment to Cat football, or have the Klingons just come out of warp and beamed up all of the team's desire, or what?????
Can we be constructive....

i'll go with GrizzlyEdd on this one. there's nothing wrong with TB's point even if he doesn't always have the level of discretion we'd all like to see around here. however, some cat fans have been no better in dealing with them. smack talk is fine with friends over beers and such, but this forum is about building a COMMUNITY of cat supporters and it would be nice if we were open-minded enough not to discriminate based on the origins of a comment.
otherwise, i'll echo Kmax's sentiments in the other forum:

I like the idea of depending on four-year kids and if we can win the battle for the best Montana kids in that process - great. I think part of our problem right now is that we have so many key positions that are new to the program and noone is stepping up to be the leader. We have some absolutely wonderful kids from out-of-state. Many have been pillars in our program and excellent four-year students. Some of them stay here and make great careers for themselves in our community. And, lets face it, there aren't enough 1-AA caliber players from MOntana for both MSU and UM to field competitive teams.
It's having to fit one-year and two-year players that seems to be a really tough thing early every season. Seems to me that it must be really hard on the kids trying to make that adjustment too. Jefferson sounded like a GREAT guy on the radio last week... like he was so happy to be here and so greatful for the opportunity. I'm glad that he is getting a chance to finish his education. But it had to have been extremely painful for him to go through Saturday. The crowd booing him was disgraceful. It was a bad situation for HIM. I'd really like to see us focus on the high school player and placing a big priority on developing our players to be leaders. I see Tyler Lulay as being a player that has been developed. EVen in garbage time this weekend he was mentally strong. Evan Groves is a four-year player... Ryan Force...
We need LESS turnover to be MORE consistent!!!

Turner has posted nothing constructive on here so far, so I will not give him the benefit of the doubt for this post either. I've always been under the mindset that I would like to see more Montana kids on the roster, but I also get very tired of hearing Griz fans shove that down our throats.GrizzlyEdd wrote:Ya know, some of us Griz fans are also Cat fans and are only trying to figure out what the ehll happend.
