Re: What a win!!!
I thought the same thing on the ‘84 vibe. The Roberts interception in ‘84 kept the Cats from losing the game and sent them to the Natty. The Cats were up when Dowler made the catch but it seemed to just invigorate everything and everyone. I witnessed both plays in person and the excitement of the catch was definitely on par with the interception.BelgradeBobcat wrote: ↑Sat Dec 20, 2025 9:33 pmIt was a very similar vibe to 1984. If we have to punt there they get the ball in great field position and our defense was struggling to stop them. When he caught the pass I was just hoping he had the yards for a first down...but he just kept running. Taco was already a legend but now he's a mega legend!!! Justin Lamson is a now a legend too. But they've got to finish the deal. Kind of like the 1980 USA Olympic hockey team. Beat Russia-that's great, but don't lose to fricken Finland in the gold medal game (or whoever that was).WeedKillinCat wrote: ↑Sat Dec 20, 2025 8:43 pmThis game reminds me of the 1984 semi final win against Rhode Island. We were down they were driving and Roberts gets that pick 6. The flood gates opened after that. Same with Lamson to Taco's TD. That was historic and the game was not in doubt. Epic win over the gris

I love how on the call the ESPN crew was amped during the play but after the score just let the crowd relay how big it was and stayed silent. Osweiler did one hell of a job and we got a top notch crew. Really well done by ESPN.

Osweiler used the right words all afternoon, but he couldn't get the "gluck gluck" out of his tone talking about the school to the west. Probably just me but he annoyed the hell out of me all game.Prodigal Cat wrote: ↑Sat Dec 20, 2025 10:45 pmI love how on the call the ESPN crew was amped during the play but after the score just let the crowd relay how big it was and stayed silent. If it weren’t for Bobby “State” Hauck’s complete lack of class as both a coach and a person, I’d have a little bit of empathy for the Gris and their fans.
The fans condone his act though, so it makes it even more sweet for MSU to win the biggest Cat-Gris game in history.

I think Osweiler is a good commentator, except I felt like he was waaaay more complementary of the Gr*z. When we had a lead the whole first half he wouldn’t shut up about Ah Yat and the Gr*z offenseProdigal Cat wrote: ↑Sat Dec 20, 2025 10:45 pmI love how on the call the ESPN crew was amped during the play but after the score just let the crowd relay how big it was and stayed silent. They’re his deciples and I love every bit of it. He’ll be around as long as HE wants to be and that’s very good for the Cats.PapaG wrote: ↑Sat Dec 20, 2025 7:09 pmHeading home riding shotgun.

Can't be. Doesn't end with 7.
Just checked and ESPN lists the attendance at 25,437. I have no idea how we fit about 3,000 more than our previous record? Especially since NCAA takes most of the gate so schools minimize the attendance for playoffs.

Re: What a win!!!
You might get some competition from the '84 Joey Roberts pick 6, or the '18 Tucker Yates smash and forced fumble on the 1-yard line at WaFrizzz.

Re: What a win!!!
But the Roberts INT wasn’t against the griz. It was in the playoffs yes but not against the rival. It didn’t end the griz season AND send the Cats to the Natty. It just won the semifinal.
And the miracle in Missoula wasn’t to go to the Natty. It was just to seal a Brawl win.
Both of those plays are probably top 10 but 3rd and 20 has some history that neither of those have.

Osweiller does most of the Utah Utes games for ESPN. I hate him, I think hes one of the worst color guys that ESPN has.BornBobcat2000 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 21, 2025 12:42 amI think Osweiler is a good commentator, except I felt like he was waaaay more complementary of the Gr*z. Me too. Was sitting in what is now 108. Just graduated about a year earlier. Made every home game from Glasgow that year.AFCAT wrote: ↑Sat Dec 20, 2025 10:43 pmI thought the same thing on the ‘84 vibe.
