I think an underrated edge we have against montana is using Adam as a receiver out of the backfield. Pretty hard to both blitz and cover the back, and he has receiver skills coming from back there. I'd look for that early and often.
I agree. The Griz will Blitz early and often which means voids on the field, I don’t think Lamson & Co will exploit that.
What makes you think Lamson and Co can’t exploit that?
They can. Lamson needs to play like he did in Cat-gris 1.0 and be decisive with the ball. Keep those hurries to a minimum and get the ball out quickly. Head on a swivel and all that…
We literally already did exploit. Do MSU fans know we played a game against these guys a few weeks back? Feel like I'm taking crazy pills with some of the talk I see on this board. I'm going to keep saying it...we match up well with them and feeding into the narratives they create is exactly what they want.
Despite playing a 4 man front, SFA tried similar things to what UM does defensively so we couldn’t run the ball. So what happened? Lamson diced em up, just like he did against UM.
I know Loud being back for them will certainly help, but what they do schematically is just going to struggle against a good OL. They’re going to blitz a lot and somebody is going to be open, just like last time.
And didn't SFA have a DB that is going to get drafted? For all the griz losers on here have said about Loud I don't think they've claimed he's an NFL talent.
That corner did not play against us. But Kyon Loud is the greatest cover corner to ever play and we will now not be able to run or throw because he can cover two people and they can now load the box.
Their defense looked good early but I’m not sure how much that had to do with Loud. USD is not a juggernaut offense. USD scored 22 points from the last two minutes of the half to midway through the fourth quarter to make it 38-22. At that point um had a PR TD. Would’ve been interesting if 31-22.
Not sure how much to take from that game.

Must be PTSD. Lol. I think the way we throw the ball matches up really well with what they do defensively. Taco, Jones, and the TEs, YAC. As someone else said, it's really hard to game plan when you can't win the line of scrimmage on either side. They did an admirable job at home of mitigating it. I would expect a lot of horizontal stuff to try to do the same thing Saturday but I bet at home we're more prepared for it, and disciplined.

He’s got McCaffrey in his game.

I like that comp. He's such a smooth runner it sometimes sneaks up on you how fast he actually is.

Exactly!!!
Hauck may have scared some fans with his running up the score on inferior teams but he sure as hell didn’t phase our TEAM with those actions. This is still the same team we beat a few weeks ago in their Mecca and we still get them here where they haven’t won forever

Sorry Catzz, autocorrect apparently jumped in to change up what I said. I had edited the post to say Lamson WILL exploit those voids to punish the blitz. I can see Woods and Steel punishing the Griz secondary if they vacate those spots too often.

Does Adam have any nicknames? If he doesn’t it just dawned on me it should be “PAC Man”…Adam “PAC Man” Jones.

The press has been calling him that for weeks if not months. I dislike it more than I like touchdown Tommy for Tommy Mellot

The only person I've heard call him PACMan is Joe from Hack City and I'm pretty sure that is mostly to aggravate Sean. It does kind of roll off the tongue though..

Jones is showing a propensity for taking over games when it’s too close for comfort. He has sort of taken over that role from Tommy. What an incredible player.

Combination of him and Julius definitely wear on opponents. I would throw coon and white into that formula as well but we’ve not seen them much lately. They are outstanding being in the third and fourth position.

If we were like griz fans we'd believe that they hare just been saving Coon up to go off in this game.
Eastwood, did not make it. Ball out! Recovered, by Montana State!! The Bobcats hold!!! The Bobcats hold!!!

I'm not taking anything from Julius, but Jones has uniquely been the closer lately.
@UM, on the last two drives (their TD and their game-ender), he had 7 carries for 41 yards and 2 catches for 15 yards.
Vs YALE, on their last TD drive to answer Yale's score, he had a catch for 27 yards and a 33 yard TD run.
Vs SFA, on their last TD drive he had the 16 yd score after Davis' penalty and he had 3 carries for 46 yards on the game-ending drive.
He has just taken over when it was time to put the game on ice. The kid is unbelievably clutch.

Adam has a really good cut, along with a good acceleration. The major factor to me with Adam is what he does when someone else has the ball.
I love Julius, guy is powerful and has speed, no quit in him. I think they are as good a combo as any I have seen in a Bobcat uniform.

Last year at home for the brawl, he ran that 70 yard run to set up the TD to close that one out too. He has been awesome in big games for the most part!
