I really think the gris were OK with losing yesterday. I'm not saying it's a good strategy, but Hauck said after the game they played pretty simple on defense. I think they believed they'd get the 3 seed if they lost and wouldn't have to play NDSU until Nashville. Obviously they tried to win, but I have a hunch they didn't show everything they had yesterday. I think it's dumb and it'll backfire on them, but I don't think MSU got their best shot yesterday. Unfortunately for them, MSU didn't give their best shot yesterday either and still won in the "Mecca".
Pretty sure that was just Bobbi being Bobbi. They tried all sorts of trick plays. They also ran the same defense they have all year. He’s full of hot air.

Odd that they’re questioning UC Davis at 8 and not Mercer at 6.

Nobody is "ok" losing cat/griz.

The 2 south Dakota schools are intriguing. Wonder if sdsu gets 14 and a date with the griz.

You’re also not ok just giving up homefield advantage . Especially how much they credit the “Mecca”

Yea this is an interesting take.
And by that I mean horrible.

Nobody is ok with losing to the hated rival, losing the conference title, and missing out on the opportunity to play at home until the national championship all because they think they have a better chance in the rematch on the road.

Mercer is 9-1 vs the FCS and on a 9 game winning streak. 8-0 in the Southern. Davis is 8-3 and quite honestly shouldn't have even been in the top 8 discussion.

This is an insane take. Assuming they’d get a semifinal rematch was a big if, and the game plan in late December will be a lot different than yesterday

You actually believe that?
It's a hot take, I know. I don't think they wanted to lose, I just think they went in thinking it's not the end of the world in the long run. In the NFL, teams lose all the time and come back and beat the same team in the playoffs only a couple weeks later. Hauck is all in on trying to win a natty, and I wonder if he wouldn't take a less conventional approach. He obviously doesn't care about the in-state recruiting battle anymore, so is he willing to say Cat-gris isn't as important as it used to be? He knows he's not getting fired, and he knows the ONLY way his legacy improves at all is to win the NC. I'm way out on a limb here, but I think that crazy little brain of his might have been rolling that possibility around.

And then UC Davis gets a pretty easy draw as well for who they’ll have to play.

The commitee basically said "we're going to seed the top 8 so we get as many regionalizaed first round games as possible."

Have we ever had a Cat-Gris under the lights? I can’t remember any.

Oh man. This is the craziest thing I have read. Best part is griz fans will take this wild logic and run with it. lol.
