I love the track improvements too. Part of my dream realized. Yay!

Oh, and no second deck as had been rumored.
Not that it matters right now, as I’d be more than happy to see this stadium for the next 20+ years, but I wonder if the east side will be built with the possibility to still add seating above the suites at a much later date?

Wow, this is next to nothing on the stadium front. Really disappointing that there’s not more info about improved capacity or any details at all… pretty picture though I guess.
One step at time, let’s take small wins where we can. This is big.

I'm sure the final design will have more information.

I hope everyone here reads and understands this statement in the plan: "The plan contains concepts that create the foundation for improvements. All opportunities in this plan may and in many cases will change from the original concepts based on a variety of factors, including budget." before nitpicking about minor details about the renderings they don't like.

One of the things I couldn't help but notice when they did the parking lot renovation a couple years ago is how much space of sidewalk they put in behind the east side bleachers before you get to the parking lot. They've definitely left room for a much, much larger structure than the one currently existing there so I don't see why a second deck on that side wouldn't be possible down the road.

Yeah, hopefully the “near future” for the scoping of the project is actually soon. I just wish it was more than one step up from a vision board.

Relax, it was just an observation about the rumor of an upper deck, not a criticism of the design.

I'm quite relaxed, was more pointing out that even I thought at first that these were supposed to be more detailed renderings than they actually are. My first comment was not intended to reply to you or anyone else specifically, which is why I put it above the quoted posts I responded to directly.

The goalposts still aren’t tall enough. :-^

When you read the master plan it seems as though the Football Stadium improvements are 4th on the list. Are we to believe that the Brick and Tennis courts gets done before the football stadium? If so doesn’t that seem like a mistake when you factor in ticket sales gained plus suite revenue would help the overall athletic budget?

Personally I didn't read the components of the plan as necessarily being listed in the order that they plan to implement it.

Everything is labeled from top to bottom on the different pages, so the stadium is going to be listed below items that are situated north of it.

I know next to nothing about the tennis program. Do they ever play matches outside?

MSU is planning a nice outdoor tennis facility in addition to the indoor improvements.

They do now!

You aren't questioning the (imaginary) validity of the new master plan are you? :)

I never see any images of the tennis team playing outdoor. Weren't the old outdoor courts covered over by the bubbles? The proposed outdoor facility looks pretty sweet.

Realizing it's just a concept and not a finished design, does it look like in this drawing/concept that they added lower seating closer to the football field almost all the way around? I've heard it said (not saying it's true) that the fans being so close to the field helps the GrisPandas with their home field advantage.

Weather permitting, they did play outdoor tennis matches in the past back when the outdoor tennis courts east of the Fieldhouse were still there. Currently they only use the indoor courts when playing at home.
