If you want a "real" Montana steakhouse experience (although I'm a little hesitant to share)...go to the Land of Magic in Logan, Montana (if you have a rental car).
Dude... Not supposed to reveal these types of secrets. Why I recommended the Rib and Chop.
I debated whether to mention the Land of Magic...but figured they aren't some social media influencers and would enjoy the experience.

What was Land of Magic called in the early 2000s? I’m sure I ate there in college but I can’t remember what it was called.

There was a lot of discussion earlier in the thread about Stacey's and JW Heist.

Both are owned by same people. They also own Plonk and the new Stockman (Stockmans maybe) bar downtown Bozeman.

You might be thinking about Sir Scott’s in Manhattan. Forget what that’s called now but it’s changed hands as well.

How is the Oasis these days? I remember going there in the late 90s / early 00s but haven't been there is over 20 years.

Crazy thing about Sir Scott’s in Manhattan. They were so popular for their steak fingers and their new owners don’t make them! Not sure what’s up there. But their lunch is good. Been out there working a few times this year.

Its not called the oasis anymore. Scott had the business for sale for quiet a few years and finally sold it. The name didn’t come with the sale. Nor did the recipes. So any of the stuff you loved at the oasis, for me the steak fingers...., is no longer available. At least that's what the girl that waited on me told me the only time I've eaten there since the sale. It was good but not the same. And no Lorraine to wait on you at lunch sucked too. Lol

No more huge prime rib and no more soggy salad. It’s fine, but it’s not the same.

I miss their steak fingers so much. I got excited when someone said they’ve been there recently. Bummer.

My two cents, at some point have a cheesesteak sandwich from the Pickle Barrel. Start your bar crawl at the Cannery, it is right across the street from Ted Turners Steak house. then work thru the bars as you travel east down main street, but be sure and stop for a cold one at the Crystal. Continue east stopping at any place that looks good on your way to the Rocking R or R Bar. There are a bunch of bars along that block. Keep heading east till you finally get to the Montana Ale Works, always a good place to eat. Then enjoy your crawl back.

I remember going there in the 70's and it was fantastic, but then so was Manny's Burger Inn. Manny's Burger Steak (cube steak) with eggs toast and hash browns with a quart of milk was under $5.00.

If you like finger steaks and you are near Twin Falls Idaho, You have to try them at the Oasis in Twin Falls. Some of the Best you can get. Plus if you are extra hungry you can add a side of chicken gizzards.
