I think the hornets had a whole 12000+ in attendance.

Wonder what that says for the 1500 at the psu game?

Re: Big Sky Conference week 1
MSU is the best team in the conference. The other three are way behind and not much above the muddled mess. I would say the gap between us and them is bigger than the gap between them and what you’re describing as a muddled mess. None are as good as ucd was last year. MSU is just as good as last year. Last year Idaho was the third best BSC team and we beat them 38-7 and 52-19. Idaho isn’t close to as good as last year and the gris only beat them by 11 and gave up 30…we gave up 26 in two games and won by 31 and 33.

As much as I hate to give them ANY credit, UM looks better this season than last. And I feel you in particular are being blindly dismissive of them in multiple threads. They are through the toughest part of their schedule this season, I will be shocked if they don't come into Cat/gris undefeated. And that game in stinktown is NEVER easy. Vigen's teams haven't fared well there...iaafan wrote: ↑Sun Sep 28, 2025 6:10 pmMSU is the best team in the conference. The other three are way behind and not much above the muddled mess. Um looked better losing at UND last year than it did beating them at home this year if we’re being honest. They shouldn’t have lost there or won here. They didn’t look very good vs CW or Idaho. Idaho isn’t good. If um is good they beat Idaho by 20-30 points. They haven’t played a road game and are historically bad on the road. If we played them there tomorrow, it would be a blowout. Maybe they’ll get better as the year progresses anything can happen.grizzh8r wrote: ↑Sun Sep 28, 2025 9:00 pmAs much as I hate to give them ANY credit, UM looks better this season than last. I thought they looked pretty good against Idaho. I’d say the two teams are pretty evenly matched at the moment.

I agree. If that game was in Moscow it probably flips. UM, Idaho, NAU, UCD are hard to split up.BelligerentBobcat wrote: ↑Sun Sep 28, 2025 10:35 pmI thought they looked pretty good against Idaho. I’d say the two teams are pretty evenly matched at the moment.
MSU - 17 team National Champions (most recent 2025); 57 individual National Champions (most recent 2023).

UM a looks improved and Worthen is a nice addition, but their defense doesn’t look all that great. If they met tomorrow I think Lamson would have a day, and our defense would match up well because our cornerbacks are fast enough to stick with their receivers. Bobcats also shut Gillman down last season and I see no reason they couldn’t do the same this year. I think the biggest threat to the Bobcat defense is a tall receiver who can get up high to catch the ball. Fortunately, UM didn’t get one of those when they went portal shopping last spring.iaafan wrote: ↑Sun Sep 28, 2025 9:53 pmUm looked better losing at UND last year than it did beating them at home this year if we’re being honest. This weekend’s game in Flagstaff is huge in terms of the Bobcats remaining in contention for a top seed in the playoffs. It’s likely one of the biggest hurdles in terms of them having an undefeated conference record heading into the brawl.

Yep, thank goodness defense travels. Style points don't matter, just figure out a way to get out of Flag with the dub.MinnesotaBobcat wrote: ↑Sun Sep 28, 2025 11:07 pmUM a looks improved and Worthen is a nice addition, but their defense doesn’t look all that great. Cal Poly is being pretty sneaky. They play UCD this week. They might join your group of 4.TomCat88 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 28, 2025 10:38 pmI agree. If that game was in Moscow it probably flips. I thought UM was clearly better than Idaho no matter where they play. I think MSU and UM are pretty even right now, I think our defense is better so I’d give us the edge, but UM looks good. That freshman receiver of theirs is going to be a very good player.
