OK so MSU can't gain any land this weekend with a win, because UNCU doesn't have any. Idaho plays NAU this weekend and can win their land in Nevada and Louisiana, which MSU would be able to win if they beat Idaho. Portland State has a chance (theoretically) to win UC Davis' land this weekend, then we'd have a chance to get that from them the following weekend and own a huge chunk. OR, if EWU can beat Davis later this month the Cats would have a chance to win that off them. I don't see Davis losing to either team though. If things go well for MSU and how they should around the BSC over the next month or two, I think MSU picks up land from Idaho but otherwise I don't see this changing much for MSU until the Davis game. I know it means nothing but it's always fun to look at.

Okay, since MSU won the NM portion on the FBS imperialism map, does that mean they will own it all year if they win out? After all, there is no way for another FBS team to take it from them.

I was thinking we pretty much have it locked for the year regardless, but maybe they would transfer it to another FCS team if they beat us. The Cats winning threw a bit of a wrench in the concept of a strictly FBS imperialism map

I will say though, our logo looks pretty good displayed amongst the rest of the FBS schools. We should make that a habit 8)
This was discussed on Reddit. Maine plays Oklahoma in November so if they beat us and then lost to them then Oklahoma would get the NM territory. So yes, we'll have that portion of the FBS map for the rest of the season.
Actually what was said was that it would would almost certainly remain an FCS holding for the rest of the year. If we get beat by another FCS team they take over the New Mexico territory on the FBS map. So MSU has to win out to stay on that map.
Yep, I thought this was discussed... MSU has to win out, else another FCS team will get the Cat's territory on the FBS map.

If MSU beats UC Davis, we still won't have enough land to move into 2nd. The key is to get Alaska.

I quickly scanned and eyeballed it, and didn't use a calculator. It happens.

This one isn't correct. I still see 3 griz logos back east and I'm pretty sure Davis just took those.
