Somebody grab me the Cat head off the top of the scoreboard. I’ll give you $500 for it.
A cat head on the top of the scoreboard? Sounds like there's a good story there...
It’s the big Cat head emblem on the top off the scoreboard.

Anyone know what will happen to the old scoreboard?
If it isn’t trashed, then I suspect the can could be re-used for another scoreboard by someone. Obviously, they’d have to pay some cash to upgrade and fix all the internals. I’m betting on trashed/recycled though.
Yeah we asked this at a Bobcat Club meeting last year when this was planning to be done last summer and Leon said that it is done for and not worth trying to salvage and reuse elsewhere. As evidenced by the issues seen last year with dead video panels occasionally.

Anyone know what the resolution is going to be on the new scoreboard? I think Wyoming's is 4K (although could be 1080P) and it looks really nice (even close up).

The camera is working but it is pointed at the Kagy intersection and not at the BAC. The camera moves on its own but it's a crap shoot on where the camera is pointed when the images are uploaded to the web. Sometimes the posted images are of the East Grandstands, sometimes the intersection, sometimes the Mountains, sometimes the BAC, etc.

I do hope the contribution the Thayer family made is somehow remembered and not lost to time. Looks cold for the workers and my phone tells me that it's a chilly 16 degrees in Bozeman which is much better than the -20 at my house with a wind chill of -38.

Apparently it shrunk, unless the previous contract included some signs above/below and on the sides

Yes, I would think that creating a permanent “Thayer” space someplace on the board or structure isn’t a hard thing to do. Their contribution was huge back in the day, and it was a tremendous upgrade at the time. The speakers were always my bone of contention in the stadium…but the video board was tremendous.

my hope is that in 13 years we don't tear this one down, but just do a quick and easy LED screen upgrade.

I think the plan has always said 100x30 as it is written here in the press release...

That should be a great upgrade (size) for the stadium. Wyoming's Big Screen is 38 X 84 and you can see it awesome from the other side of the endzone. Hopefully the new sound system will be a huge upgrade as well (how can it not be).

I don’t know if Thayer’s have any land or get away, but that top part would be cool as a ln entry way. Maybe the current players could hang it for them as a gesture. That would be sweet

Sweet, yet nerve-wracking.
