It will be good to have Bobcat Nation back. The trolls pretty much ruin it for me. I choose not to read their posts so don't frequent BN as much. Going forward, I am excited about 2024. Going through what is the "updated" roster, there is a bunch of talent coming back. The Cats will be very good again next year. The new signing class has huge upside. I believe there will be important additions made, either in the spring or fall.

What? Who are we losing besides Sean and the tight ends? I don't agree that our talent is less in 2024.gtapp wrote: ↑Sun Jan 07, 2024 6:21 pm2023 was our best chance IMO. Our OC and DC held this team back. One is gone. If we can move on from our OC we have a chance next year but will probably have less talent.MinnesotaBobcat wrote: ↑Sun Jan 07, 2024 4:23 pmIt’s been my belief for two years that next year will be our year. SDSU, NDSU and Montane lose a lot of talent, and we bring back a lot of key players. Can’t wait for September!!

To play devils advocate. How can we lose Sean, Treyton, and Derek (Valdez) and not have less talent next year? A year older makes everyone better, I get that. But Sean and Derek are irreplaceable. As someone mentioned in another thread, we will be as good as our back up QB next year. And I really really believe that.WalkOn79 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 08, 2024 1:20 pmWhat? On offense, we lost Chambers, Snell, Pickering, Sumner and Clevan Thomas, plus 2 stud O-linemen to the portal (Omar and Rush).WalkOn79 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 08, 2024 1:20 pmWhat? On defense, we lost Seabass to the portal plus Ben Seymour, Askelson, Level Price and I think another DB.

Well, we’ve already added an o-lineman and d-lineman from the portal and are just getting started there. Plus, Alexander, our stud receiver transfer from last year will finally be eligible. Finally, as you said, there will be improvement from other players. I also trust in Vigen to grab a portal QB if he doesn’t feel like we have a good backup.CodyCat wrote: ↑Mon Jan 08, 2024 1:33 pmTo play devils advocate. My primary reasoning for next year being the year is the schedule in addition to an accomplished senior class. Our road schedule was brutal last year in playing 3 top 4-seeds. I think a top 2 seed is huge part of getting to Frisco. When I saw last year’s schedule I thought 8-3 was likely, and 9-2 was the ceiling. Next year’s schedule looks much more favorable for piling up wins .based on who we have at home, and there is a very winnable FBS game. As long as this team stays reasonably healthy, or some of our opponents don’t make massive strides through the portal, I would expect a great season.

By that logic, wouldn't any team have less talent every year? You're going to lose SOME good players every year. Those guys will be missed, but it seems to me that it's less contributors leaving than a normal year.CodyCat wrote: ↑Mon Jan 08, 2024 1:33 pmTo play devils advocate.
