NIL money isn’t the issue, it’s the ability to transfer easily. Change that, and a lot is fixed.

Has a previous Bobcat football player ever transferred and achieved significant recognition with their new team? I can't seem to remember any instances. While observing Ifanse and Glessner not reaching the same success level after leaving the Cats, I'm attempting to recollect a player who truly excelled – not just starting but achieving All-Conference honors, being drafted into the NFL, and the like.
Closest I can think of is Dakota Prukop but that was in Mark Helfrich’s disastrous last season as Oregon coach and then some true freshman named Joe or Jackson Herbert or something like that replaced him as the starter after a few losses.
The freshman was Mitchell Herbert’s little brother too.

He played vs. ndsu. And with Omar leaving (and possibly 1 more), he might have started next year.

Call me negative; but this version of the NCAA is absolute trash.

It mirrors the “free market” and isn’t that what the University System is suppose to prepare students for?

Moore/Reimer/Perkins/Reed/Wehr

He had a shot, but not a great one imo.

OL is different. Very little PT for backups. I think the portal is great for them.

MSU - 16 team National Champions (most recent 2024); 57 individual National Champions (most recent 2023).

Yeah, Justin was going to play at MSU but he became a known FBS talent between his junior and senior HS seasons so Helfrich begrudgingly offered him rather late in the process and he stayed home to be a Duck.

So does everyone at an P5 team get loads if NIL, or just "preferred" players like proven OL's?
It's almost not worth building a kid up to be a starter because he's gone as soon as he grades out at a high rate for a couple of games.
We give a small amount of NIL to players but nothing compared to the P5.
NCAA needs to tweak that rule a little!

Real late, he wasn't offered until October of his senior year. Oh, what could have been.

I still find fascinating how three of the Oregon QBs at that time had or will soon have connections to MSU.

One can assume they’ve been talking and have a pretty decent idea who’s doing what.

No.

I’m sure Omar will get more than he’s getting at MSU (pretty low bar), but I doubt he’s getting 6 figures either. I think some of us assume it’s all about money, and forget these kids dream of playing big time football. I love MSU, but we ain’t big time football.

Woods started 2 years at Missouri and Sessions will be a 3 year starter at Cal.
