Since you asked, the answer is "No." And it's not an eplidemic, it's a PANDEMIC extending far beyond Griz fans. EVERYBODY loves the Griz.
It's funny how the mighty Griz progam is now marketing UM gear with an M on it :) They are probably finding out how well MSU sales are going since the new logo change. As far as I know though, MSU is the one with an M on their helmets. Oh well, if you can't beat them join them eh? TOO FUNNY!

Anyone seen the new Montana 'M' hitches/shirts. Wow, it took them 100+ years to learn that there is an M in Montana :)

I personally like UMMMM ... should be on their helmets and their uniforms :)
But there is no "M" is "State". Seriously, the Griz have been putting out gear with a single "M" on it for years. I have a sweatshirt and two different caps with a single "M" on each of them, the oldest of which I purchased at the University Bookstore in Missoula at least 8 years ago.
My father has two, one from 1959 and one from mid 60's

The GRIZ, a quarter century of total football dominance over the cats.

That's why I love you Cat fans. A simple post that links to the rest of an unbiased article is smack to you. Talk about thin skin. You all line up with your clever "emoticons" and get all high and mighty.

"I won't shop at Griz-owned stores."

"Did Kenyon Noble sponsor the Griz game...they must be TRAITORS!"

"Boycott McDonald's they sold me a Griz-logo Coke!!!"

"The new Chronicle reporter doesn't hate the Griz--burn him at the stake!"

Grow up; it's a game.

Get over yourself, loser. You friz fans would all have your panties in a bunch if there were Bobcat endorsements all over Missoula-area businesses, and you damn well know it. Even if that were not true and you could care less, I STILL DON'T CARE what you think. This is a Bobcat board, and we are here to discuss the Bobcats. If you want to discuss the griz or diss the Bobcats, go do it over at efriz. Keep your friz paraphanelia off this board! Mods?

Maybe you missed it. There's a smack board for your crap. Take your dump over there instead of on this thread.

Oh you mean Griz-related material like this...
From efriz:

22 Beers on Tap including 14 Montana Micros

Friday
-Happy Hour 4-7
$2 Dollar Pints of Griz and Cat Juice
$2 dollar well, and drafts.
$1 Bud, Bud Light, PBR, and Miller Lite Drafts
-Free Apps 5-6pm
7-9pm: 10oz. Certified Angus Sirloin, Twice Baked Potato, Side Salad-$7.50

Saturday

It looks to be a fun weekend here in Livingston and everyone is looking forward to celebrating one of the longest rivalries in the country. I graduated from MSU, but our bartender who is a BIG Griz fan will be sportin' all of his Maroon and Silver.

Well, won't be going there after my next fishing trip on the Yellowstone...
...doesn't belong on your board?

I wonder why you posted it then?

Allow me to apologize on behalf of all Griz fans. It is not our intention to hijack your threads, but there is one thing you should understand: It's damn hard to be humble when your team is the GRIZ!

I'll give you a hint sherlock, that was in a seperate thread to start and had to do with something that came up a couple of months ago and having seen many of Bozone's posts, was laced with sarcasm. That aside, this thread in case you didn't notice was about the EASTERN WASHINGTON AND THE MONTANA STATE UNIVERSITY FOOTBALL GAME THIS WEEKEND! Don't worry I bolded it and capitalized it for you so you wouldn't miss it. You come on to a thread about a writer's pick of this weekend's game between EASTERN WASHINGTON AND MONTANA STATE UNIVERSITY and start rambling about the griz.

Coach, we all know that Bobcat fans are smart enough to "get" it. Sadly, very few friz fans seem to have that same ability. Hell, even SausageCrotch comes across as brighter than this fool.

ENOUGH! Back to the real topic, please.

Again with the surprisingly novel use of message board technology...that is impressive. In case you hadn't noticed, this tread was started to discuss Kent Schmidt's article, hence the thread title "IAA Kent Schmidt Picks." (oooh...italics) The post linked to a portion of the article. Then, I linked to the remainder of the article which had been previously omitted and added very little of my own commentary (one trivial sentence to be exact) and now I am accused of "talking smack" about the Bobcats.

I fully expect to be banned from Bobcatland or at least moved to the your "smack" board--where anything that does not overflow with Bobcat praise goes--but that's fine with me. You may continue to live in your insular world; I just thought it might be nice for you to read the full text of what had been quoted.

Furthermore, let me point out that once this thread is moved to the smack board that it is not I, but the Cat fans themselves, who have resorted to personal attacks.
brighter than this fool.
Take your dump over there instead of on this thread.
obnoxious newbie friz fan
hey moron
I wonder why none of these posters have been called into question for talking smack?

In case you don't get it that is a rhetorical question.

In case you don't know what "rhetorical" means--look it up.

Well, if the shoe fits.......

Again, this thread is a Bobcat oriented thread. It's original intention involved comments about the author's pick for the game with MSU and EWU, not UM. Hope that helps......

bottom line is if griz posters had not started to post on this thread it would have remained on topic...

i would not miss any of you that post on bn from the griz boards because the postings always turn into smack...unfortunately it seems you can't help yourselves...

i wish the moderators would consider being less tolerant of posters who clearly are newcomers and post only to piss off bobcats fans...because it ruins it for the rest of us...mods...are you listening...???

Ah yes the immortal Thomas Reed. Personally, I prefer this Reed quote since I just know he is talking about Bobcat fans:
"They never open their mouths without subtracting from the sum of human knowledge."

By the way, the ellipsis is typically only three dots...though I wouldn't expect a graduate of such a fine academic institution to be familiar with basic grammatical conventions.

To continue the desperate pleas to the moderators, please note that until I was personally attacked, I did not type a single word about the Bobcats, the Griz, or any posters on this board. All I did was link to the remainder of the article thar this thread was based upon. Please explain how this is "smack" in your world and why you can't take it if this is the full extent of "smack."

Post by PDXKat » Thu Nov 10, 2005 12:01 am

Don't be getting all excited. This tread started about our game this weekend. As we don't give a rats ass about the griz this weekend, I chose not to run the whole article in question when I started the thread. The griz have, for a long time had a great program, and we don't need to be reminded by a newbie like yourself. Why did you add it if you thought us Cat fans wouldn't get a little riled. Dumb Ass.

catsblow, why did you post the rest of the article? You can use the fact that it was in the same article as a nice decoy, but we all know your interior motives.

You are not going to make friends if your first post on our website has nothing to do with the topic on hand and is nothing but pure praise for the Griz program.

If you had chosen to start a new thread (preferably on the College Sports Board and not the Bobcat Athletics Board), you wouldn't have gotten such a cold reception.

I know you are new here, so you don't know how things work. Here is a hint : most of us do not like the Griz. We can handle logical posters who add insight into Griz and Bobcat football alike. There are many Griz fans I enjoy discussing football with, here and on e-griz. But first impressions are the most important ones, and your first impression is that of an arrogant snobby Griz fan.

When 85% of Cat fans feel Griz fans are arrogant and condescending, and your very first post does nothing but confirm that, you will not make many friends.

I empathize with some of your points, but the fact is you ruffled feathers, intentionally or not, but if you had any clue about Bobcat fans or this rivalry whatsoever, you would have (should have) known that it was an inappropriate area to post that, and that anywhere you posted that would ruffle feathers.

As far as you thinking you will get banned, you haven't posted a single post on Bobcat sports, and we are on the Bobcat sports forum. All you did was post irrelevant material about your team when we were discussing ours, and taken shots at the Bobcat fanbase.

We have some very simple rules here on Bobcatnation, and you with your "superior academic" background (you know how many periods go in an ellipsis!) should be able to read them and comprehend them.

No one is going to get banned for going off-topic here or there. No one is going to get banned for posting some anti-Griz threads, and vice versa. But you have to balance that with some logical posts about Bobcat football, which you have failed to do.

I hope that my post is in accordance with your grammar specifics.

Hey catsblow - I DON'T CARE!!! Go stick it over on efriz, where you all can sit around and talk about how great you are and how bad everyone else is. After you're done sticking it over there, you can stick it right up your ass. :x
Wait. A Griz fan didn't write these things. Kent did. And just a few posts prior you were all gushing over how you love the way he thinks. I guess that's selective love, huh?

No one is bashing Kents article. If you don't understand why we are irked, perhaps you need some glasses.

CC, I never claimed anyone was bashing Kent's article. I was simply stating that it wasn't a Griz fan who was saying how great the Griz are, but rather Kent was saying that. And I understand your frustration with a Griz fan hijacking the posts, but trust me, the same thing happens on egriz by Cat fans. Hell, there is, of course, a thread about this same article on egriz and there are Cat fans blasting away at it there.
