I wasn't aware of any of that -- thanks for the information. Yeah, I guess our nonconference schedule may end up being rather strong.

MSU - 16 team National Champions (most recent 2024); 57 individual National Champions (most recent 2023).

On a positive note, I am excited to see the home and home series with South Dakota St. As a Bobcat alumnus who has lived in Brookings for the past 15 years, I have seen SDSU transition to Division 1 and develop an outstanding overall athletic department. In addition to their football team, they always have strong basketball teams and have had success in baseball, soccer and various other sports. They are currently in the midst of a major stadium expansion and last year opened one of the largest indoor training facilities in the nation. I have the utmost respect for the way they do things and what they've achieved.
I hope to see many fellow Bobcat fans make the trip east in 2018.

Alabama is playing a I-AA opponent this weekend. No reason for us to complain about a D-II game early in the year

No Missouri Valley Conference teams on the schedule. Gee, I wonder why? I like the Idaho game better than playing Alabama. That might turn into a league game by next season.

South Dakota State is on the schedule the 2 following years, so what's your point?

I like the schedule. An FBS game that is winnable....good FCS opponent in Bryant (they lost by 14 to #9 Coastal Carolina), and a D2 program that is no slouch in Western Oregon. WOU took PSU to the wire in 2014 45-38. Southern Utah and the Griz on the road will be difficult to win...but I'm optimistic. Looking forward to 2016!!

SDSU is in the Missouri Valley FOOTBALL Conference. Try to keep up with Taco.

As much as I hate seeing us play to D-II games again next year, it might be of some benefit as we will be breaking in a whole new coaching staff. There is no guarantee that Cramsey or his style of offense will be around, so it could mean giving our offense time to learn a new system. I would love to see the day when we only play one game down a season or none for that matter.

Not quite sure what schedule you're looking at... There is 1 D2 game next year in Western Oregon, and 1 FBS game at Idaho. The rest of the opponents are all FCS

Ya, I don't remember ever playing more than 1 drop-down game in a season.

Actually, as much as I appreciate your inference, You-da-ho is actually an FBS team. With several more scholarship players they will still have a significant depth advantage.

Sorry, I thought someone said that Bryant and Western Oregon were both D-II schools. I guess they both sound like they suck so I just assumed they were right. My bad.

Very true. We were like a wet dream on most people's schedule this year. Hopefully, we can change that wet dream into a nightmare next year.

Bryant University has an excellent FCS football program. They made it up to # 25 in the polls this season. The games they lost were very close. I am very familiar with the school and their team.
