The funny part about that particular dig is that Troy managed to lead the team to and win a playoff game during his one failed season, something the Falcons haven't done since 2017.BleedingBLue wrote: ↑Fri Aug 26, 2022 10:40 amHaha glad that clown did his research. - 2021 Bobcat Roster page(2018) MSU’s first First Team All-Big Sky quarterback since DeNarius McGhee in 2012... Third Team All-America as an All-Purpose selection for STATS... also named Sophomore All-America by Hero Sports, and FCS Sophomore of the Year by that organization... started at QB in 11 of MSU’s 13 games... rushed for at least 100 yards a school-record nine times, 94 in one other... 64-for-111 passing (.576) for 717 yards with two TDs, one INT in the last five games... his 21 rushing TDs is the MSU single-season record... has scored at least one touchdown in 11 straight games, a school record... broke a bone in his hand during the opener, and played a limited role on defense and at running back in the next two... his 211 rushing yards against Portland State was second-most ever by a Big Sky QB... threw for 107 yards and caught a 32-yard pass at a key moment of that game, as well... 102 rushing yards and a TD against Weber State, the most by any FCS player against WSU this season.... threw for 173 yards on 16-for-28 passing against ISU... MSU’s Sonny Holland Offensive MVP... Academic All-Big Sky.
I wish all of our QBs would fail like this.
Eastwood, did not make it. Ball out! Recovered, by Montana State!! The Bobcats hold!!! The Bobcats hold!!!

SEC fans are the absolute worst. As a whole, I wouldn't consider them football fans at all--they're just SEC fans. We beat up on gris fans, but they're not nearly as ignorant as the average SEC fan.CelticCat wrote: ↑Fri Aug 26, 2022 10:35 amTroy is in a tough spot with Falcon fans who are also UGA fans who really wanted Nakobe Dean.

You can't really blame the Falcons/UGA folks for being disappointed - what would the reaction be like on this board if MSU were to not offer a well-known Montana high school player in favor of an out-of state kid with major upside but no ties to the state? It would not be 100% positive, that's for sure.

You're right, but hopefully most of us would be rational about it. Nobody else wanted Dean either in the first two rounds. He's small-ish, and scouts apparently had concerns about his decision not to get surgery on his pectoral injury. Ultimately I though I think you're right...you're always going to pull for your guy.MSU01 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 26, 2022 1:26 pmYou can't really blame the Falcons/UGA folks for being disappointed - what would the reaction be like on this board if MSU were to not offer a well-known Montana high school player in favor of an out-of state kid with major upside but no ties to the state? I'd guess most Falcons fans are rational and are willing to give Troy more than one preseason game to show if he can live up to his draft position. Any fanbase will have its small share of obnoxious loudmouths and the best place to find them is usually on social media.kennethnoisewater wrote: ↑Fri Aug 26, 2022 1:34 pmYou're right, but hopefully most of us would be rational about it. And that's why I said Troy is in a tough spot. He's going to have to basically be a superstar to appease some of these kinds of fans.MSU01 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 26, 2022 1:26 pmYou can't really blame the Falcons/UGA folks for being disappointed - what would the reaction be like on this board if MSU were to not offer a well-known Montana high school player in favor of an out-of state kid with major upside but no ties to the state? Yeah. But if you go their fan forum, he's getting quite a bit of love too. Many poster point out that the UGA homers hate any pick that doesn't come from Georgia. But I think most of the knowledgeable fans know he has a shot to be something special. I put a prediction on there that he'll be an impact player by mid season. But he's definitely going to have some growing pains early.CelticCat wrote: ↑Fri Aug 26, 2022 10:35 amTroy is in a tough spot with Falcon fans who are also UGA fans who really wanted Nakobe Dean.

Looks good. Made a couple tough tackles. Made an inexperienced mistake on one play. He’s more athletic ability than 90% of the LBs in the NFL.Common Cat wrote: ↑Sat Aug 27, 2022 2:46 pmAnyone watching the game against the Jags? How is Troy looking?
MSU - 16 team National Champions (most recent 2024); 57 individual National Champions (most recent 2023).

Hit the QB on a blitz, whiffed the sack but made QB step up into another defender as he threw and forced a INT.
