Has there been any talks about an indoor practice facility lately? Any plans to start raising money for this or future stadium upgrades? New video screen/scoreboard? Speakers?

It seems weird that at least to the public this doesn’t seem to be moving forward… I’m sure there is some behind the scenes were going on. But this week is a perfect example of why we need it, practicing outside in this weather, and then traveling to California, or a place with a dome doesn’t make sense. It changes the pace of practice and increases his chances of injuries.

I'm thinking we could heat the field for under 4 mil. Wouldn't melt off the snowfall but it would keep it from freezing to minimize injuries. We'd need that with or without a practice facility.

Unfortunately, that’s kind of par for the course with MSU sometimes. I get the requests for money all the time, but rarely, if ever, hear updates on projects. I purchased a football locker but still haven’t been invited in to see the plaque on it or even been sent a photo. No big deal, but it is irksome. I’m guessing the athletic department isn’t anywhere close to funding/building an indoor facility, so nothing to announce on that subject anyway. Unless a big spender is found, stadium upgrades are many years away. As for the new scoreboard, I have no idea why they haven’t announced what it will look like or a timeline for installation. Maybe, that’s good off-season stuff to keep the fan base interested while the regular and post season plays out. Since the scoreboard isn’t going to be installed this football season anyway, just hold off announcing anything until Spring.

U of M is paying just over $7 million for theirs
NDSU spent $50 million
SDSU spent just over $30 million

Hopefully we have $10-$20 million and make it better than an inflatable building. 😂

I didnt think NDSU's was anything out of the ordinary. I'd anticipate MSU's to be in the 50-60 mil, especially since its for all student athletes.

The fact MSU is seeking the regents’ approval to spend $1.5 million on design tells me the administration must be fairly confident in its ability to raise money for construction. (Maybe they have someone or a group lined up already?) To me, it doesn’t make a whole lot of sense to spend that kind of money on design with no idea whether the construction dollars will be in place. But I don’t know much of anything, so…

NDSU indoor facility includes what is equivalent to the BAC so the cost estimation is not transitory.

No kidding? Well, I completely missed that aspect of it. Which is obviously huge. So maybe we can build something for $20 mil.

Still wondering when Learfield is going to cough up some money for the video screen like they did at UM?
