Wow that's crazy. Why would they do that? Especially considering they have one of the best FCS football teams in the country. A good showing for JMU in the playoffs is still a good showing for the CAA.

A tweet from Sam Herder a few posts up says the football bylaws are different and they can still get the auto bid. But even if not the team that gets it would most likely be in the playoffs anyway and JMU would get an at large.

It wouldn't matter if it did apply to football. The only way JMU won't get an at-large berth is if they get a loss or two in their remaining 3 games, which would almost guarantee that they don't win the conference anyway. Auto-berths don't seem to have much effect on seedings in the playoffs.

Edit: Got two thoughts intermingled there - They're basically a lock for an at-large already. Their only loss is to Villanova and they are in 1st place in the CAA. For this to effect them, they have to win the conference (but ended up not winning because of this) and if they do that they will have a good enough record to go to the playoffs with an at-large berth. But I guess it doesn't apply for football anyway.

The school fired them. Frost was given the opportunity to re-work his contract and do some cleaning if he wanted to stay.

I know it's not off season but this is definitely a random post! Just watched the latest Big Cats Little Trucks with Ryan Davis. I may be the only one here but I had totally forgotten he was Native American, and didn't remember that he was Leo's brother. He seems like a great young man - it's incredible how many kids we have in this program that are super talented AND high character!
