My only negative marks this week is they typically leak a RB to side and he had a few times he could have made quick read and checked down. He holds it and runs taking a loss. Give the back a chance to make someone miss.Bobcat Sig wrote: ↑Sat Sep 27, 2025 7:18 pmAnd such a difference from last week, too. My oh myMSU01 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 27, 2025 7:06 pmSome folks were unhappy last week that I said Lamson played a terrible game against Mercyhurst. So here we go again...
...What an absolute masterclass by Lamson today, great decisions throughout and even his misses were good as they went long and didn't allow the defense to make a play on the ball. Night and day from last week and the play calling seemed more diverse too. Great job all around, that's a National Championship caliber offense we saw today!

According to Lamsen, practice was really good this week. Seems like things are starting to come together. Hopefully they can build on this win and keep rolling. I really liked that they didn't seem to take their foot off the gas, even when the 2s and 3s got in. Thats not been typical in year's past. It was nice to see.

Yes an elderly lady was hit in the head with the shanked punt. Just below us. Stadium medical staff were called and were checking her over…she was walked with assistance out of the stands.

I don’t ever recall a fan being injured by a punt. That must be a record for a new low of something. Next they’ll want baseball style netting. I do hope she’s alright. A football is a pretty heavy blow.
I don’t feel any sadness for EWU in particular, but we don’t need any more lousy teams in the conference. Maybe they are swapping spots with Northern Colorado.

He isn’t being stubborn, that is NDSU football. I raised my kids in Fargo, not a Bison fan. Having attended many Bison games, a lot were close until the third quarter. The Bison continually ran the ball inside, wearing out the other team. The long sustained drives in the first half took its toll. Eventually those runs become bigger runs, and open up the offense. It is all by design. The Bison have done this since the 80s in D2 running the veer.SparkCat wrote: ↑Sat Sep 27, 2025 3:36 pmWe have not ran anything to the outside, would seem to work as we seal the edge well, Vigen is so damn stubborn though and will run it up the gut until it works. Our line does not create that nice cutback lane that we have been use to in the past.MountainCat wrote: ↑Sat Sep 27, 2025 3:34 pm49 yards of rushing going into the half for the Cats. Glad it’s 30-3, but this score at halftime feels weird.
I’m glad the offense is gelling and feeling it, is this the Cats new identity??![]()

Seeing Chance’s touchdown run makes me wonder if there’s an opportunity to use him in wildcat situations. The guy has some wheels!

Re: The Officially Unofficial Game Day Thread - E Wash
I've been looking for the usual weekly posts "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly - EWU," and "FCS Week 6" (or BSC Week 6 -- either predictions or what needs to happen for us to get to the Natty).
The Ugly for me is seeing issues with our kicking game bubble up again.
Appreciate the comment about Chance having some wheels... how about a 2-quarterback offense every now and them?
Of note: The friz finished above us in both polls today. I must admit that they can look rather deliberate and intentional with both their run and passing execution. I hope we embarrass them in the Brawl. It's time to do so on their home turf.
A buddy of mine was at the game and reported to me that a couple rows below him a lady had a heart attack. A cardiologist who was there did some aggressive chest compressions and got her to recover, then she left on a stretcher. Don't know if this is the same incident that was mentioned on this board earlier providing a different perspective. (not the out of bounds punt story)

Re: The Officially Unofficial Game Day Thread - E Wash
From a football perspective it is stubborn. We literally get next to nothing in the middle and has us off schedule. Now we say it's Vigen but from what I cab see he isn't calling plays, so this is an OC thing.. with me full well knowing vigen may be influencing the decision making. Now I'm not sure of the play call but in a lot if the middle end its being blocked as an option play, leaving the de free(read guy). Lamson should've pulled in so many situations as there's no one on the edge and he's 88 and out the gate. Now this may be a directive because of the over running of the qb in the first couple of games but to me the designed runs are different than what these plays are. It seems like the OC is still figuring out how to properly use all his tools on offense. If he pulls more often the rbs will have more space to find a crease.Robert Martin wrote: ↑Sun Sep 28, 2025 9:08 amHe isn’t being stubborn, that is NDSU football. Lamson clearly gives a different dynamic and this what I foresaw him being used more like. Throw the ball way more to open up running lanes and use your qb runs only to hold off the end to create conflict just enough to give the rbs space.
