Re: 2015 Commitment List
The Bobs still might have a shot at Jesse Sims. Apparently, he's retracted his verbal to Oregon State since Mike Riley is leaving.

Re: 2015 Commitment List
I suppose I should have clarified that I want responding just to you. I know you never said they didn't have good recruits.TomCat88 wrote:Did I say I don't think the Griz have good recruits? If so, please point that out for me like you did with your breakdown of what the "stars" mean. That was ever so enlightening.bobcat99 wrote:At this level, stars really don't matter. Film does. They're generally fairly accurate with 5 stars, less so so with 4 stars, and basically everybody else is either a 2-3 star. That's why you watch film. And if you watch the tape and think the Griz don't have some really good recruits, then I don't know what to tell ya.TomCat88 wrote:Maybe its just me, but it seems like when MSU gets a bunch of star-rated players, then that "doesn't really mean anything, because those rating systems are flawed and its better to go after in state guys," but the opposite is true if UM gets them. UM just got done doing the Montana county names deal on their hats and doing the Montana Pride, We Are Montana thing and now they're not recruiting Montana very hard. Its hard to hit this moving target. No matter what MSU does, UM wins. The discussion is pointless.
But like I said earlier, we'll find out in a few years. That's what really matters.
There's really no reason for you to be so condescending either. It's not a good look.

TomCat88: Great thought and right on the money! The Griz can wear the "Up with Montana" image, but they sell the image as if there's a Montaboy under the helmet, but as long as they win then it doesn't matter. The Cats have the kids, they just don't sell as well.

New commit from Riley Griffiths DT/C out of Washington. He was also one of the kids from the movie "Super 8" that came out a few years ago. Maybe going into film?

Watched his film and he is a passionate player with size. Lacks some speed but if he can get big and strong, we could use a big nose!

I wouldn't be surprised if we used him as a DT. . . good size and could pack on more weight.VimSince03 wrote:Watched his film and he is a passionate player with size. Lacks some speed but if he can get big and strong, we could use a big nose!

Yeah it looks like he was playing a 3-4 defensive end in high school but he will be playing DT in college. Gonna be too big.

Re: 2015 Commitment List
Sometimes its tough to tell based off of film. You have to take into account level of play. He looks like he could be good! And good point on getting kids out of state only if we offer full rides. I can't wait for the January visits! Should have a ton of talent coming through Bozeman in the month of January.Bozcat003 wrote:Generally when we get out of state kids they are on full. . . That's actually really cool. That movie was great.VimSince03 wrote:New commit from Riley Griffiths DT/C out of Washington. He was also one of the kids from the movie "Super 8" that came out a few years ago. Maybe going into film?
Don't let this distract you from the fact that the griz blew a 22-0 lead.

Just looked him up on IMBD. He's the kid who was the big bruiser in the group of friends.

Re: 2015 Commitment List
One of the few times I will disagree with Colter. Saying that has no benefit to anyone. Their are plenty of people already committed to MSU that read his tweets, seeing that isn't great for the moral. Every one of these guys was good enough that our coaches offered scholarships to them. There may not be the "star" player like Garrett Marino, Prevost, Dodd, ect yet. . . but this recruiting class has a ton of players who add depth and a few that I think could play early.Colter Nuanez @Bobcat_Beat

It's interesting seeing who MSU has offered and who they have landed. IMO, top prospects have verballed elsewhere or are still waiting...
Also, we still have most of December and all of January to recruit. . . at this point last year we had 2 verbals (connor Sullivan and Joey Marinello), so one could argue that we already have a better class at this point than we did at this point last year. We had a great class last year, and I fully expect this one to be as well. Plenty of great players on the board still, most of these guys will wait till January to commit to view our beautiful campus. . . I guess I don't appreciate that comment made by Colter. We didn't get those big time players until January, and I expect the same this year. . . guessing we get 8-11 more players.
