Also, did anybody else cringe at Sheehy's short speech? Not his greatest moment.
Yep.
It was so dumb.
If there's a silver lining to the lame comment by Sheehy it would be that his comment stands as a perfect example of how stupid it is to say ESG when the event has nothing to do with them. Come on people learn from this. If it is stupid and cringe worthy for one person to say that it is just as stupid and cringe worthy for the group to say it. Anonymity and mob mentality is no excuse.
I absolutely hate parading politicians around. Left, right, middle. Don’t care. It’s stupid.

I can see what part of the room I stand in. That being said I loved Sheehy’s speech! I’d be just fine going back to chant in the 80’s of pooooooooooor grisLLies

I don’t think this parade/celebration is a place for politicians though because most people can’t keep their mouths shut and just enjoy the moment. The guy that wise cracked to Gov G for instance.

I agree. I’m a conservative and it was a bad look. Whenever you put stiffs in front of a crowd there for a different reason, you’re asking for trouble. It’s out of touch, untimely, and desperate. Kind of put a stain on the whole thing, and it was great day besides that.

It’s bad enough to shoe horn one politician into it. Can’t believe they wedged 3 in. Leave it to politicians to take responsibility for something they had no hand in, though.

Great day, only downside was that there's no way that the number of politicians who spoke at the celebration should have been equal to the number of players who spoke. Sheehy might have killed off the chant for good with how awkward that "speech" was.

It's too bad that politicians feel they have to speak at these types of events. They had nothing to do with the win. Yes it's Montana, and they're the representatives, but it should have been about the team and the school, even Bozeman, but politicians love to hear themselves speak so I guess. As much as Sheehy was awkward and pointless, at least he kept it short.

MSU - 17 team National Champions (most recent 2025); 57 individual National Champions (most recent 2023).

Showing pressure on fourth down in overtime. They bring pressure. Lamson throws...Endzone! Caught! TOUCHDOWN!!! Taco Dowler!

And a kick away from a championship.

Here we go. Miles Sansted. Snap, hold, kick, Up, GOOOOD!! FOR A NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP!!

Question for someone who was at the stadium. It appeared that someone in the crowd said something to Governor G. who responded You'll get over it. Could anyone tell us what was heckled there?
It was when Gianforte said he thinks everyone watching lost 2-years off their life. JT responded “my bad”.
That’s when he said you’ll get over it.

This was awesome when he did that! I was sitting there wondering if.....how could he, without making it seem like he was putting down Tommy, say something to the effect of(or better yet say Taco step up and say it) "we all love Tommy but they said that they couldn't without Tommy Mellot".

First of all, Not a GG person but I admired that if he was going to be in the parade, him and his wife walked. There was no ride for them and they just walked and waved from right behind a vehicle. So it didnt stand out that this was the governor.

I think MSU could've done better on a couple things. They players needed music. When the float passed me, it felt kind of awkward. Have music on the float pointed backwards so as not to interfere with the SOTW playing the fight song. But give the guys something to jam out to at 10am. Make it a party!

And as everyone was waiting for the event to start in the stadium lets not just play easy listening it's music. Lets make it a party!

And then I felt the 14 minute video could've been shorter. It seemed to deflate the energy a little. And maybe at the end done some more slo-mo like The Catch, The Block1.0 and The Block 2.0. And the Extra Point. And maybe don't bring up the mistakes by individual players.

Sunny Day. Couldn't have asked for better weather on a January day. A Sunny Holland day!

Last thing, I had Miles Sansted and about 7 or 8 other players in front of me at the women's game. I only know it was him because his girlfriend was wearing his jersey. But they were so flipping entertaining! Getting into the game. Signing autographs for young kids. I loved it. We'll done and way to represent MSU football!

Thanks for the answer. I can picture JT saying that.

I thought the parade was awesome at least from where we were on Main Street right outside the R Bar, but the vibe at the stadium celebration was a little awkward and somewhat flat. If we're (hopefully) organizing another one of these in the near future, please please please drop the politicians and focus more on the team which is who everyone there came to see. The best and most well-received speeches were by the players but those were short and only three guys got a chance to speak. I would have loved to hear from more of the players with shorter video clips and more band/cheer squad participation interspersed. This felt more like a graduation ceremony in which everyone has to sit through the obligatory hour of speeches to get to the part they are actually there for.

I disagree about the video, I thought the crowd enjoyed it.

Yeah, it didn’t seem like it was 14 minutes long. We were all joking around and reenacting our gestures and the emotions we had during those big plays at the end.
