This was the big one. With Lamson back we *will* be one of the top contenders for the natty next year, even if we have some additional portal losses.

I have no doubt he turned down some big money offers, but this is one of those times where that we clearly the right move for both the school and the player.

Lamson will secure his status as a Bobcat legend next year, not just a one year rental.

Yes, but by virtue of winning it all and having a week 0 game this fall I think it's the shortest (and probably happiest) off-season of any FCS program.

One thing that gets overlooked is the learning curve with a new OC, and him getting his legs under him which shouldn't be an issue for 2026. We should be in much better shape to start the 2026 season than we were in 2025.

This is what I’m excited about too. He and the offense were a completely different beast by mid November compared to those first 4-5 weeks.

A full offseason with the team and these receivers should pay dividends. I hope we get year 2 of Sterbick as well as I think he progressed as the season went on as he figured out what guys were good at, what they liked, etc. I just know better than to assume we get two years in a row with the same OC and/or DC. We’ll see how that shakes out over the next couple months.
