I hope they keep it there. It seems like the general consensus was "please don't send us back to Frisco".
Also, nothing at all was "bolstered" by that drawl-pop song they kept playing.
Eastwood, did not make it. Ball out! Recovered, by Montana State!! The Bobcats hold!!! The Bobcats hold!!!

Particularly scary when it abruptly changed from one step per row to two steps per row half way up.SonomaCat wrote: ↑Thu Jan 08, 2026 12:12 pmIt's just a really old stadium with concourses that are smaller than modern standards and really steep stairs with no handrails (it was a bit scary getting down from the top row).thisnamesucks wrote: ↑Wed Jan 07, 2026 4:37 pmFor those of you who attended; was the congestion/issues more of a lay out issue or was Vandy a bit unprepared for the turnout?
Nashville was much nicer than Frisco in virtually every way. There are lots of things to do and you don't have to drive everywhere. We had a great time.
The big drawback, as others have mentioned, is the stadium. Nice field, good capacity. But the seats are very tight, it's hard to get in and out. Vomitories are very constricted.
I don't usually worry about concessions but with the game starting at 6:30 (with a few hours of pre-game activities) I wanted something. The selection was not very good and they were sold out on lots of things after halftime. And I'd say it takes 1/2 hour to get from your seats to restroom or concessions and back, even when it wasn't that busy.

I think the congestion was the worst at section S and section T merger. Other than coming out of the tunnel, I don’t think the sections were marked anywhere. They were quite a few discussions amongst fans trying to figure out where they should be setting as they lost track of Rose and sections. One of the ushers even had them confused.
I don’t believe the concessions were ready for the amount of business that they had pending.
Everything else was better than Frisco I thought

In my opinion there is no comparison between the two. Nashville was superior in every way. Granted it's an expensive time of year to fly but I think you can get creative. For example we flew into Huntsville which was only two hours away.

Re: Nashville > Frisco
Another oddity, that contributed to the poor circulation, is that there were no horizontal aisles to get from one section to the next (at least there weren't at section R where we were). When you came out the vomitory and into the stands, you could go a short distance to the left or right to get to the aisles going up the stands but the horizontal aisles died right there. So if you came out in the wrong section, you would have to swim against the tide to get back underneath the stands and then go to the proper section.kwcat wrote: ↑Sat Jan 10, 2026 8:49 amcatbooster wrote: ↑Sat Jan 10, 2026 12:01 amParticularly scary when it abruptly changed from one step per row to two steps per row half way up.SonomaCat wrote: ↑Thu Jan 08, 2026 12:12 pmIt's just a really old stadium with concourses that are smaller than modern standards and really steep stairs with no handrails (it was a bit scary getting down from the top row).thisnamesucks wrote: ↑Wed Jan 07, 2026 4:37 pmFor those of you who attended; was the congestion/issues more of a lay out issue or was Vandy a bit unprepared for the turnout?

The Vandy Stadium felt like it was designed by an airline - jam as many seats as possible into the limited space and don't worry about circulation. Regardless, it's better to be in a football stadium with turf that will stand up to a football game.
Despite my complaints above (just trying to give the drawbacks as well as the positives), Nashville is preferable to Frisco in every other way (ok, maybe add flight availability to Frisco's advantage). Overall, there is no contest IMO. Nashville is far superior to Frisco.
My apologies to anyone from Frisco - the people were nice and you were good hosts. There's just not a lot going on outside of the game itself. Everything is so spread-out you need to rent a car (we didn't last year and were constantly having to uber). The fan bases are spread out instead of running into everyone (from both sides) on Broadway.
It will be interesting to see who proposes to host next.

Yep, it’s the same between S and T.catbooster wrote: ↑Sat Jan 10, 2026 4:58 pmAnother oddity, that contributed to the poor circulation, is that there were no horizontal aisles to get from one section to the next (at least there weren't at section R where we were). I do think that all of the bars in Frisco were more welcoming. A lot of the places in Nashville or oblivious to anything going on. I bet they get better next go around. Still enjoyed the change up to Nashville.

Everything about Nashville was 10 times better than Frisco. The stadium, the town, the bars, the travel, the hotels.
Hope it stays there for a long time.

Some interesting thoughts here from Sam Herder on the future of the National Championship game and possible host cities. Yes, Las Vegas is mentioned...

I think las vegas will decide if they want to bid based on the UM/MSU vs DSU's turnouts.
