I never realized a goal post was torn down in the celebration. Guess I was too busy signing mony mony.

I will never forget ripping them down in 2003 and matching them to the R Bar.

Now I believe they are actually dropped down after the game and sold off to the bars after big wins. Back in the day it was a hell of time getting those things down and carrying them down town from the stadium. Man, I can wait to tell my kids those stories someday.

When the R Bar blew up I thought there was something about recovering a goal post from the rubble and Specs got it, but maybe I am misremembering exactly what happened with that one.

Specs has their's. RBar did have one that survived the explosion and it's at the RBar.

I think they both got one that year.

They don't get "stolen" anymore but there is kind of a wink and nod situation where one bar owner let's athletics know they will buy a new one of they can have the game post.

There is a very burned and slightly twisted upright hanging in the new R bar now. Must be the one pulled from the rubble.
