Spirit of the West Fundraiser for Nashville
From President Brock Tessman
Dear MSU Bobcats Fans,
Our MSU Bobcat football team is headed to the FCS national championship game on Jan. 5 in Nashville, Tennessee! Throughout the team's entire season, from the first home game to the playoffs, our MSU Spirit of the West Marching Band has been there, in the stands and on the field, filling Bobcat Stadium with energy and music to match the excitement and excellence the team has displayed all year.
Spirit of the West has more than 200 members from every college on campus, including the Graduate School, Honors College and Gallatin College MSU. Forty-eight of them are music majors, and all told, they represent 74 majors. The average SOTW member gives more than 200 hours to the band in a typical season, and collectively they perform more than 50 times each year! And all of the students in the Spirit of the West take pride in their important role in the game day experience. Filled with Blue and Gold spirit, the marching band never lets us forget what it means to be a Bobcat.
It will be fantastic to see "MSU" spelled out on the field at FirstBank Stadium in Nashville during halftime of the championship game. I can't wait to give football fans from far and wide the chance to hear Montana State's fight song and see thousands of Bobcat fans jump out of their seats on this national stage to scream "Go, Cats, Go!" in unison with our marching band!
There is no question about it: The band is Nashville-bound! But transporting a marching band of more than 200 people is no small feat. All those extraordinary students and staff, along with their instruments, need airfare and travel accommodations. So now, just as the Spirit of the West has supported our Bobcats, it's time for us to offer the marching band our support.
That's where you come in: Your generous donation will help offset the estimated $300,000 in travel costs for the students and their instruments.
At Montana State, our sense of Bobcat community and support sets us apart. Will you stand up with us today and donate to help get our marching band to Nashville? In return, our Montana State University Spirit of the West Marching Band will help you STAND UP AND CHEER on Jan. 5!
Visit www.montana.edu/sotw/ for more information or go to www.msuaf.org/SOTWtoNashville to help offset the band's cost in our march to victory!

It'd be good to get the band there, but if I'm being honest, I'd rather see the rodeo team there to do the run out.

Best ideal ever!!!!!
While registering my vehicles the assessor stated "I have had both Cat and Griz students and alums work for me and the Griz end up working under the direction of the Cats."

I wish I got priority points for all the money I spend on Natty trips. I do think this is included though.
