Thanks tdub for carrying this discussion as you have. With your knowledge wisdom and tact, you've directed it in a good way that should have lots of fans giving real thought to what you've said. You'll never get everyone to be more civil but by nudging many you will have made a big difference.
If you're looking for someone with a little authority, I'm your man. I have as little as anyone!

No denying it can be an issue, but it can be addressed in a civil way to not escalate. We’re all Bobcats, it’s the holidays, just treat people good and good things happen.
Just don’t understand why this is even being argued here and there such a hostile tone around here. This is a week to celebrate something truly special and unique.

When you tell them to get the F out, they respond by saying they just started a new season of the Gilmore Girls and it’s Rude of you to interrupt them.Joe Bobcat wrote: ↑Thu Dec 18, 2025 2:32 amIlovethecats, you sound like someone who knows the rules and wants them firmly enforced every second, so I'm hoping you can tell us all what the rules are and how you'd enforce them in the following scenario that can occur in the stadium.ilovethecats wrote: ↑Wed Dec 17, 2025 8:48 pmBecause they’re not your seats. You didn’t pay for them. You don’t get to dictate the rules. You don’t know why they are late and frankly it doesn’t matter. People paid money to get their seats and do with them whatever they want. They have the right to sit in their seats the SECOND they get to them. You don’t get to make the rules with other people’s property.GoodTimesAllTheTime wrote: ↑Wed Dec 17, 2025 4:49 pmYou don’t think it’s reasonable to assume someone isn’t showing up if they aren’t in a seat 45 minutes after kickoff? At that point, just don’t go to the game and certainly don’t interrupt me watching the game.ilovethecats wrote: ↑Wed Dec 17, 2025 4:00 pmGoodTimesAllTheTime wrote: ↑Wed Dec 17, 2025 10:41 am
I think if you show up a quarter late, it’s fair in my opinion that everyone doesn’t immediately play musical chairs to accommodate you. You clearly don’t care about the game.![]()
I've seen some wild takes on this board but this was amazing. Literally had me laughing out loud!![]()
Honestly it’s wild to be this needs explaining. But I can assure you if I get to my seats an HOUR after kickoff and someone is in then, they’ll be leaving right then. You’re completely dreaming if I’ll just wait and let them have them until their convenience because they determined I wasn’t there when I should have been.
Completely bizarre take. Luckily I’ve never had to deal with this as I assume your view is shared by nearly no one with even a little sense. lol.
Fan 1 is sitting in his seat1 or standing immediately in front of it.
Fan 2 arrives and in order to get to his seat must cross past Fan 1.
A. Does Fan 2 have the right to cross past fan 1 the SECOND Fan 2 arrives?
B. Does fan 1 have a property right this SECOND, the next SECOND, and every SECOND to say "this is my property and you shall not pass"?
C. Is there some possible way that Fan 1 and Fan 2 can work together to figure out an appropriate time and way that Fan 2 can cross past Fan 1 that balances and minimizes any harm to either Fan so that no-one's rights are truly violated?
If your answer is C. here is an extra credit Question. Might there be something found in answer C. that can also be used to amicably handle the scenario you wrote about above?
(Hint: work together to figure out an appropriate time and way...) (Hint hint: See definition of amicably)
If however, your answer was A. or B. we can say with nearly 100% accuracy that you are a direct descendent of the character Javret (sometimes spelled Javar) from Les Misaralbes, and the name on your birth certificate is Francis.
How do you respond?
Do you say yes, sir I’m sorry?
Do you call the police?
Something else?
Like I said I probably just sit in a different area than these guys. I have 6 seats in section 104. Four together, and two together. In my nearly 30 years of having these seats I’ve never had anyone in them. Even if I’m running late getting inside. My kids are grown now but when they were younger I’d OFTEN not get there with all three in tow right on time. If someone decided to take my seats cause I was changing a diaper instead of seeing the opening kickoff, I’d most certainly ask them to leave the second I was at my seats.
Since then I’ve been called out like some kind of old geezer quiet bad fan. lol.
Anyway this seems to be a problem that doesn’t happen in 104 so I’ll bow out. Can’t wait for Saturday!

When I used to go to several Seattle Mariners games each year, the usher in the section where I always sat, would not allow anyone to go to their seats unless there was a break in the action.
