Favorite Brawl Memories
In order to take some stress off of this game, and to honor the biggest Brawl in the history of them all, I thought we should start a new thread that focuses on looking back through the years on our favorite Brawl memories. It could be a memorable play, win, player interaction, fan interaction, tailgate story, moment, anything that has to do with the Brawl... I know this board has a wealth of memories and I can't wait to hear some of those stories!

Re: Favorite Brawl Memories
Marks starting the game with a fumble recovery was pretty good, especially since his recovery ended the game the year before.
Also the same year, Um starting the game with a delay of game

2019
Closed on our house at 2:00 pm on the 18th (fri)
Got the keys at 4:00pm same day
Met the Spectrum guy at the house at 5:00 to hook up the cable and set up a TV to record the game.
Moved in all day Sat with friends and fam helping and NO ONE listened to, watched or got the score of the game, although a call to the wife during the day from her sister almost blew it!
Set up enough furniture on Sat eve to have a party and for everyone to watch the Cats destroy the gris!
It was a great day.
College Gameday Brawl was close, by the time the game started it seemed warm on the sunny side after getting to Gameday at 5:00am when it was below 0 !!

Got into the stadium just in time to see Corey Smith run the kickoff back for six.

Yes, 2019 is a great memory. First time in my life since 1985 that we crushed those guys badly. First play for the griz, delay of game. 2nd play, Jacque Alleyne smacks Samari Toure causing a fumble recovered by Derek Marks.
Tough to beat 2022, going to GameDay early then watching the Cats dismantle the griz for 440 rushing yards and we never punted the entire game.

Participating in pelting the Griz & their coaches with snowballs from the old wooden bleachers in the Gatton Field west end end zone in 1969 before kickoff!

Grant Collins knocking the ball out and recovering with two arms barely still hanging by the sockets.
Orenzo Davis TD run in the snow.
Nick LaSane just refusing to go down.
The red-headed Houdini willing us to a victory on one leg in '05.

Re: Favorite Brawl Memories
I have to go with the 2010 Brawl of the Wild.
While not a complete game for McGhee is was the moment that I realized we had recovered from the Kramer era and for the first time in a long time we had the best player on the field.
Also, the Orenzo Davis' run where he spins off one hit and the bounces off another only to reverse field and score from 17 yards out still amazes me.

Re: Favorite Brawl Memories
Many, many great CAT-gris memories.
Breaking the streak and watching it in the Sig house, jumping up and down on the couch in disbelief at what we all witnessed. Running out the front door and down Willson in pure elation.
Then, next year, when we repeated in Bobcat Stadium, rushing the field, and randomly seeing a good buddy run by and exclaim, "One's a fluke, Two's a streak!" Only to see him disappear into the crowd on the field.
In 2010, watching McGhee, O Davis, and crew make Chase Reynolds' last game a sad one. The Mike Rider interception to clinch the game was so sweet!
2018, which needs no explanation.
In 2019, my wife surprised me with a trip to the game. There was an energy in Bobcat Stadium that I'd never felt before. That game was awesome. The celebration of our absolute domination was glorious.
And in 2022, watching The Miracle in Missoula twice, en route to South Korea. Then, I watched the game live from our hotel room in Vietnam as I battled jet lag.
2024, watching College Game Day from Thailand. Unreal.

I have attended exactly one game in wagris. I don't know what I did in my previous life to be this lucky but in 2018 my brother in laws mom and dad who are gris season ticket holders and at my nephew's birthday party it came up that they couldn't go. For some reason they offered, and I said sure and took my partner at the brewery who is a gris fan to that game. He talked so much $h!t on the way to the game. It's hard to top that.

"The Miracle in Missoula" is hard to beat... although I think the second best feeling I had after a Brawl game had to be in a year that we weren't even good... I see some of you have mentioned it up above! In 2016 we entered the game with a record of 3-7, we had 2 completed passes, for 37 yards, and still beat the "Superior" 6-4 Griz team at the Mecca to the tune of 368 rushing yards... It was beyond satisfying to end that terrible year in that fashion!

Re: Favorite Brawl Memories
I'll always remember the 1968 game in Missoula (only time for me there) when Paul Schafer carried the ball 58 times and scored the winning TD with 12 seconds left.
Best game for me in Bozeman was/is 2019. Bobcats dominated from the first kickoff.

Can't make up my mind as to which is better - 55-21 or 48-14, but 34-11 will do, but 48-23 may be the best of all.
