Gilman the only 1st team for the pinkers. Though Wortham on special teams.

Yale had 3 on 2nd team and 1 on 1st team. The rb and wr both.

Unsurprised to see Pitsenberger (2nd and Kamara (1st and who will be back next year) from Yale as all-Americans. I think both are NFL guys.

Pleasantly surprised and encouraged to see Brott get all-American mention despite his lack of stats. He is so important in the Middle for us and disrupted so many plays that led to opportunities for other guys on our squad.

I know its not really important, but its more than a little shocking that MSU has fewer honors than a team that lost in the Quarters (NDSU) and two teams that the Cats beat handily...KAY was the 3rd best QB in the conference, so 2nd team here is pretty surprising (although I have no complaints about Gilman or Wortham)

Its also interesting (in my mind) that the two best defenses-by a long shot- in the FCS (MSU and NDSU-only had one first teamer on D.

Like I said, I know it doesnt matter, but its certainly at odds with the on-field results.

We got shorted in conference awards so it makes perfect sense that we'd get shorted in national awards.

Fully agree... It's just interesting that the narrative has been that MSU played weak competition throughout the playoffs so far in comparison to the mighty 8-4 SD teams. I think both paths were difficult in their own right...
