The bottom line is this: Bobcat Stadium only holds 22,000 people packed to the gills, and there's probably 50,000 people who want to attend this game. So thousands of people are going to get shut out no matter what.

MSU has to decide on a process for distributing the extra tickets, and no matter what they do, thousands of people are going to get shut out and be upset. They decided to first offer them to the loyal season ticket holders, the folks driving to Bozeman and paying for ALL the games, the Mercyhurst games, the Unc games. That doesn't seem like the worst way to go, imo.
I can't disagree with what you said, but would like to add I wish they'd revise their point system slightly to award an incentive based on consecutive years. I would love to donate as much extra money as I can to the Bobcat program, but unfortunately I'm limited for now. I have been a season ticket holder for 22-23 years, and I know a few fans who have been for under 10, but they are able to donate annually and are substantially higher than me on the priority list. I just feel like that's worth 2 extra tickets vs. my coworker who received 8 and is selling them on a third-party site to fund his Christmas and/or trip to Nashville
So you got your tickets, just not the extras, correct?

So when the expansion comes, can they finish the east side before the season starts?
Or will we lose half the stadium for a season?

Who has time to read the “final”plan?

When they did the new end zone seating it was all done in an offseason. I would l think they would be able to finish it in the offseason (although not sure how skyboxes being added impacts that either - as they probably take a bit more to finish)

I have to say this sounds less than awesome for us Cat fans that aren't season ticket holders and want to try to make it to the game. We either get to Duke it out on the computer at 10 AM Monday or get gouged by season ticket holder folks buying up tickets.

And before anyone says, why aren't you a season ticket holder? Not everyone lives near the stadium and can go all the time. But this is a once in a lifetime game. I'll move heaven and earth to go to it, but I'm anticipating a ****** show.
Just to clear some things up. We ALWAYS allow season ticket holders to request 4 extra tickets for every game. All they did differently was increase that from 4 to 8. You know why it has NEVER been an issue before? Because even allowing those ticket holders an extra 4, there are still tickets available.

Now we have a BIG game. Demand at an all time high. MSU increased this REQUEST for extra tickets from 4 to 8. Why? To ensure that every single ticket possible would be in the hands of Cat fans. That's good! Start reaching out to your fellow Cat fans. If they haven't given them to friends and family, let's hope they sell at face value and pack the place!

I'm sorry. This just feels a lot like an NFL season ticket holder being upset they can't get into the Super Bowl without paying a fortune despite being a great fan. They have to draw the line someplace and at some point money will talk. I don't like that but it's reality.
If they had left the extra request at 4, the demand was so high that more season ticket holders would've been able to grab a couple of extra tickets and they still would've all been in the hands of Bobcat fans. As for ensuring they stay in the hands of Bobcat fans, there's no guarantee of that. I have a coworker who got 8 extras with every intent to resell on a third-party seller rather than sell directly to Cat fans . And they have every right to do that. But it's ******...
Yup. That may be the exception among fans here on BN. But it certainly won't be in the wider 'fan' base.

I agree it's the exception and he knows I'm not happy. But, if the tickets don't sell prior to gametime, he is willing to sell me a couple for $100 each

I was thinking about ticket swaps

See if folks want to swap tickets to consolidate groups but there is also fun in meeting new people.

I don’t have time to build an app today.
Thoughts?
Prayers?

Being a field tech allows one time to stand around thinking. Too much some days.
Wait while techs from 3 different countries try to communicate the issue due to language barriers.
Blah blah blah

Did anyone else get charged with a "transfer fee" when your extra tickets were charged?

While registering my vehicles the assessor stated "I have had both Cat and Griz students and alums work for me and the Griz end up working under the direction of the Cats."

Stupid. Why not keep it at 4…. Cat fans would have purchased every single ticket during the pre sale. Every Cat fan on here saying this ****** has a ticket in hand. Would you be ok with this if it meant you missed the game? Doubt it
My point is have you ever complained about those 4 extras? Probably not. But just because, let's say they DID keep it at 4 extras instead of 8 extras. Maybe you would have got those tickets. But still every Cat fan wouldn't have had tickets! That's what I'm saying. We would have the same complaining, but just different people complaining.

Maybe this will be a net positive and increase season ticket holders. Get enough of those and get a stadium expansion!

But to answer your question; IF my 30 years of ticket holding wasn't enough, and IF I went from 4 to 8 to 10 to 18 tickets every year wasn't enough, and IF my other donations weren't enough and others got an opportunity for EXTRA tickets before me.......no I wouldn't be pissed. I'd have a watch party with friends and family and if it was SO important to me I'd look to get on the lost for season tickets next year!
Good perspective for sure. I apologize if I came off rude, just bummed out for the fans that can’t make it.
Oh no, you didn't at all. I get the frustration. I really do. I have friends and family hitting me up and I hate that I'll have to tell most of them no. But this was all part of the plan to ensure it is CAT fans packing our stadium!

Who is more likely to get 2 tickets and try to sell them for outrageous prices? Is it the season ticket holder or the guy off the street who rarely goes to games? We all know the answer. And unfortunately for some very good Cat fans; to eliminate the latter in that scenario we had to make sure that our most loyal season ticket holders got any extra tickets. Now it's up to them to make sure that these extras get in the hands of more Cat fans and do so at a reasonable price.

Personally, any extras I may get I already have an order of who gets them and I'm GIVING them away, not selling. All of my friends that I'm aware of are doing the same thing; we just have to see how many, if ANY, extra tickets we get.

My suggestion would to be to blast anyone you might know who is a season ticket holder and though it may be a long shot, see if they have an extra ticket in the next couple days.

I'm happy to have my 4 regular seats, would have liked a couple more but that is the way it goes if I'm not a big time donor

Online is seems like it is more occasional fans and griz fans that are upset about the way the ticket sales have gone down.

That's what I'm seeing as well. I have ten season tickets, eight in the East grandstands and two in the end zone. Season tickets in the end zone really aren't that expensive (no Bobcat club fees, just the ticket price), but you have to get them first and that's next to impossible now, unless you know someone. I wouldn't call myself a big time donor, just a old pick-up driving, hoodie wearing, Bobcat fan, but I've been giving for a long time and regularly. That's just the way this whole thing works. I don't donate money to get the bennies, but it's nice to that they are there once in a while. I also don't sell my extra tickets for a profit, regardless of what people are writing in internet land.

Yeah, We have had endzone seats since it was bleachers, there is a minimum Bobcat club requirement for the endzone now, but its still pretty cheap.

Not everyone has the time or money to attend every game or buy season tickets. That doesn't make them less of a fan.

Right on.

Well, this game is separating the haves from the have nots. I heard early "oh you're not trusting your Cat brethren enough. They'll sell for near face value to another Cat fan". And now that is changing to, "well I only have enough for my friends and family". To yet another evolution, "I deserve the extra money I get from the tickets I sell!"

As George Carlin said, "It's a big club and you ain't in it!"

But despite not being in the club, I love my Cats and I'm going to root them on one way or the other.

Or live close enough, I'll be making the drive from Seattle starting Friday night but I'm not about to pay $1,000 a ticket. We'll see if i make it to the game but mostly planning on watching from a bar.

I'd say the guy with 4 tickets is much more likely to get his wife and kids, etc to the game of a lifetime vs the guy who randomly receives 12 instead of 4, who can still take his wife and kids and then fund a trip to Nashville with the rest.
