What about a group of five who have been to every playoff game since 2010 or every regular season home game during that time span where there was even a slight chance of a competitive game? None of us are season ticket holders and I don't think any of us could afford to be if there even were any spots available. But we have been to damn near every single important game in that stadium the last 15 years screaming our hearts out and we don't even get a shot to buy tickets at face vaule? So now our only shot at attending the biggest game in the stadiums history is lucking into knowing someone who has five extra tickets that aren't already going to close friends/family or being scalped? I don't know how else they could of done it I'm not that smart, but I know this doesn't feel good for a lot of Cat fans tonight.91catAlum wrote: ↑Mon Dec 15, 2025 10:03 pmLIKElutecat wrote: ↑Mon Dec 15, 2025 9:50 pmThis is so laughable.

If you did go to the playoff games, of which there was space available, then I sympathize with you. But if you havent gone to but a game or two in the last 5 years then you have no excuse. There are ALWAYS playoff tickets available.

I feel for you, honestly. But it's pretty much impossible to get face value tickets to ANY Cat griz game these days, let alone a Cat griz semi final game.Caboose wrote: ↑Mon Dec 15, 2025 10:22 pmWhat about a group of five who have been to every playoff game since 2010 or every regular season home game during that time span where there was even a slight chance of a competitive game? Originally my biggest fear was the stadium would end up 1/4 red. Ha, no way! This is a GREAT problem to have! More Bobcat fans wanting to see a game than there is supply. I don't think you need to worry about MSU fans selling tix to made money. For one thing, HORRIBLE karma. Secondly, the poor soul would forever suffer from the "Bobcat Curse."
I don't know how many extra tickets I will end up getting but each one will to go a rowdy Bobcat fan and at face value.

Then hopefully during all that time you have made great connections and friends with people who MAY get extras. And then reach out to them and try to get your hands on some. We have a capacity of 21,000. No matter what people are going to be on the outside looking in. And that sucks. I wish every Cat fan in the world could be there. But people are going to be left out.Caboose wrote: ↑Mon Dec 15, 2025 10:22 pmWhat about a group of five who have been to every playoff game since 2010 or every regular season home game during that time span where there was even a slight chance of a competitive game? Where were all these super fans last week you ask?? We were in the stands like we always are….. that’s the point.ilovethecats wrote: ↑Mon Dec 15, 2025 10:10 pmAgree with this. Where were all these super fans last week when we didn’t even sell out? Didn’t hear fuss about tix then because it wasn’t the biggest game in the history of the state.
Guys, this is EXACTLY what we wanted to happen! You know the best way to ensure only Cat fans are at the biggest game ever? Give Bobcat season ticket holders first opportunity for extra tickets. You know where nearly all of these extras are gonna go? To Bobcat fans!
We’re right on track for Monday night. Cat fans got all the tickets. Now each of us has to see how many if any we get from our REQUESTS! We may not get any. Might get a few. But either way we know the tickets are in the hands of CAT fans. Now everyone needs to do the right thing. Sell to other Cat fans at a reasonable price. Give them away to Cat fans. I don’t care if every season ticket holder gives their tix to 8 aunts, uncles or grandparents if they’re Cat fans.
This is what we want! I’m sorry to anyone that won’t be able to go but that would happen no matter what! I really don’t see the issue. This was the best way to get the most Cat fans in the building for the biggest game ever.
And for a personal outlook, my grandfather is a griz fan and I love him to death. He asked for tickets and I told him I loved him but said ZERO chance. I literally may be left out of his will after today and honestly don’t care.

Let's say they made it only 4 extra tickets for season ticket holders like they do EVERY SINGLE game of the season. All those ticket holders would still request 4, and very good Cat fans would still be left out! It'd just be a different group of people upset.
MSU did exactly what they should have within the NCAA rules to ensure that nearly all tickets go to CAT fans for the biggest CAT game there has ever been.

This is it right here! It’s time to figure out how to distribute to Cat fans for face value. At least if I had extras that what I would do.ilovethecats wrote: ↑Mon Dec 15, 2025 10:10 pmWe’re right on track for Monday night. Cat fans got all the tickets. I've seen super-casual aunts, uncles and grandmas at games. They're not generally the kinds of fans you want filling the stadium.
Hope the Griz are prepared for cascades of mitten clapping.

Dude if this is the case you've been coming since the new end zone was built. When it opened season tickets were $62. There were a bunch of griz fans with tickets those first couple years because it meant they paid $62 for just cat/griz and sold the rest of the tickets. Or gave them a way. Had you done that you could all 5 go in in a Bobcat club membership and had 5 season tickets together for a couple hundred a piece. I think its $38 per game plus split the $100 per person for the bobcat club membership in to your per game cost.Caboose wrote: ↑Mon Dec 15, 2025 10:22 pmWhat about a group of five who have been to every playoff game since 2010 or every regular season home game during that time span where there was even a slight chance of a competitive game? Ditto. My required Bobcat Club donation is nearly as much as the seat cost. Single game tickets aren’t required to provide that additional fee.91catAlum wrote: ↑Mon Dec 15, 2025 9:29 pmSeason ticket holders drive the program. It's season ticket holders who spend money not just on tickets but also tailgate spots and mandatory donations to the Bobcat club which pays for athletic scholarships. Selling the entire stadium (sans allotted tickets) to season ticket holders feels pretty icky to me.
This does nothing to curb the stigma that Bozeman is becoming an elitist playground for the rich.
We're also the ones spending our hard earned money on food, gas, hotels etc to get to the games..
Perhaps 8 extra tickets is too many but why shouldn't season ticket holders get first dibs on extra tickets? How on earth would anyone think this is "icky"???
I suspect many of these same season ticket holders are also the primary boosters of the Quarterback Club and Bobcat Collective which help retain our athletes and improve our program. And we aren’t all billionaires but we do throw in a pittance to help.
I try to help folks get single game tickets when they are in town during the season but that has happened maybe three games this season. I even send out an email to friends and family before the season starts asking if they want me to buy single game tickets for them which was exactly “zero” this year. But now I’ve gotten requests for nearly 30 tickets for this game. Where were all these super Bobcat fans beating down my door all season to attend a game but all of a sudden believe I owe them to get a ticket for this game? I don’t know if I will rank high enough to get the 8 extra tickets but I do know the folks who have supported the Cats during the year and they will have first dibs on the seats I do get…at my cost.

Exactly. I've had season tickets since 2014 in the endzone. They are a still very affordable and easy to sell if you can't, or don't want to, go to a particular game and make some money back.lutecat wrote: ↑Mon Dec 15, 2025 11:34 pmDude if this is the case you've been coming since the new end zone was built. The fact of the matter is the program has become popular enough that this is now feasible. Especially if you're willing to cash out your Cat Griz tickets. Many NFL teams markets are similar. For some teams, season ticket holders can attend a few games they want, sell the rest at markup and still make a profit.coloradocat wrote: ↑Tue Dec 16, 2025 8:43 amExactly. Problem being then there becomes no limit to how many they would buy if given the opportunity. The teams know that's ultimately bad for the fanbase so they tightly restrict how many you're allowed to buy. Nobody should have anything resembling 30 tickets to this game handed to them by the box office. Not while so many others can't get one.
Scarcity like this should require some rethinking of the rules.

You should get close to 30 tickets to this game if you buy around 20 tickets for ALL the other games! Who do you know that is getting 30 tickets? If you know someone then they must be people that have a lot of season tickets already.RKMCMT wrote: ↑Tue Dec 16, 2025 9:28 amThe fact of the matter is the program has become popular enough that this is now feasible. I have 18 season tickets for every game. I have the opportunity to buy 4 more for every game. Usually this will just be the big games like Gold Rush, Cat/griz etc. But every single game I can BUY 22 tickets. With this game I got to request 8 extra tickets instead of 4. I got my email today and I got those 8 tickets, all over the stadium. So I have 26 tickets for this game. All of them spoken for and I still have to tell some friends I can't help them.
You really don't think I should get 26 tickets when I pay for 18-22 of them every game of the season?!
