Would it have killed them to save say 500 tickets to go to the next priority list? Selling the entire stadium (sans allotted tickets) to season ticket holders feels pretty icky to me.

This does nothing to curb the stigma that Bozeman is becoming an elitist playground for the rich.
Honestly, anybody who thinks that is just being stupid.
Stupid. I’m in the mid 1000’s out of 4000 priority point numbers. I know I’m not getting my 8 requested. How should numbers say 600-4000 feel when they bypass us to give to you?

I hope I’m wrong, but I think 8 extra per season ticket holder was too many. I think we will see more Griz fans as a result. It’s too tempting not to sell at least a couple of those if you’ve so many.
I still don't think we're going to see a bunch of Bobcat season ticket holders selling out and selling these to Griz fans but I guess we'll see. I do agree however, with 8 being too many. If I strike out on getting ANY extra tickets, after applying for them immediately when the first communication went out, after how much I've invested MSU as a season ticket holder over the past 30 years... then yes I'll be kinda bummed. That would make me think they should do it differently, maybe allow every season ticket holder to at least get one extra ticket if they want, and then distribute all the rest of them via priority points.
A total of 50 seats available on seat geek right now from season ticket holders. I know there are many businesses that have season tickets but are not fans, they just give the tickets out to clients. I also know of a few scalpers that have season tickets. These season ticket holders are the reason why a lot of us ain’t seeing the game. …. Unless we pay $600 a ticket
You say there's only 50 for resale and that's what's leep8ng "a lot of us" from seeing the game.

I get you are frustrated. I am sorry but 50 is not a lot in the scheme of 20,000 tickets.
I’ve got my tickets…Allowing up to 8 extra tickets per season ticket holder feels excessive. Many regulars won’t be in attendance, and that’s disappointing.
Yeah, I've been to every home and playoff game for the last 3 years and we may get scalped out of this one somehow. Sad thought.
This is very unfortunate. They should’ve done a presale for Bobcat fans without allowing the season ticket holders to get extras beforehand, and we would’ve easily sold out before the Gr*z could’ve gotten any.

Season ticket holders drive the program. It's season ticket holders who spend money not just on tickets but also tailgate spots and mandatory donations to the Bobcat club which pays for athletic scholarships. It's not the rich Californians buying season tickets, it's those of us who bleed blue and gold.

We're also the ones spending our hard earned money on food, gas, hotels etc to get to the games..

Perhaps 8 extra tickets is too many but why shouldn't season ticket holders get first dibs on extra tickets? How on earth would anyone think this is "icky"???

Speaking of season tickets. I cannot find any information on the MSU website about them right now. I’m looking at trying to get them next year. For those who are season ticket holders, how much are they for a season? Can you just buy 2 seats or does it need to be 4+? Thanks
You can purchase two season tickets. I started off with two. Cost depends on where your season tickets are located, the end zone being the cheapest. If I were you, I'd find a friend that's a current season ticket holder and have them purchase you two season tickets on their plan. It will be next to impossible for you to get season tickets on your own right now.
Awesome, thank you! I’ll get on the waiting list. Work with a few guys that have season tickets so I’ll try that too!

With how today went I’d think you would need to be under priority point 800 range to get any.

Highest priority point is out of 4000. That doesn’t count any new season ticket holders as of this year as they won’t get their points until next year.

Guys. You’re overreacting to high prices that nobody will actually pay. Why don’t you wait a couple days for the tickets to actually get released before we cry about how unfair it all is.

Just having season tickets won't get you very high on the priority list. You have to do a lot more than that. Join the QB club, Fast break club, Sixth man club, etc. Donate money to any number of different MSU funds, building projects, etc., and do it every year. Yes, not everyone can do that, but that's what moves you up the list, not just having season tickets.

Oh, and NIL donations to the collective count towards priority points now too.

I didn't say it was icky to get first dibs. I said not reserving one single seat in the entire stadium for someone who doesn't have a season ticket, is icky. You have first dibs on seats that are not your season ticket seats.

This is so laughable.

"I dont go to many games(when there's SRO alot to the majority of games...) but I find it unfair I can't get tickets when I want them because this is the biggest sporting event in the state since 1923 but I didnt go to the precious two playoff games"

If you did go to the playoff games, of which there was space available, then I sympathize with you. But if you havent gone to but a game or two in the last 5 years then you have no excuse. There are ALWAYS playoff tickets available.

That’s honestly great news. Now we just need to make sure our season ticket holders passed them on to fellow bobcat fans without price gouging them.
Gouge away, ad far as I’m concerned. Just kick back 50% to an MSU scholarship, the QB Club, Bobcat Collective, or something similar.

If a Panda fan wants to buy a ticket for $700 & half that goes back to funding another decade of dominance, I’m all for that.

It still has nothing to do with Bozeman being an "elitist playground for the rich." If missoula was hosting, they'd have approached it the same way.

How would you have distributed those? Stand in line at ticket office? Lottery system?

Demand is going to exceed availability for a game of this magnitude, there will be people left out no matter what happens.

With a priority system in place, and wanting to avoid selling tickets to the opponent (see 2023 U of South Dakota vs. NDSU fiasco), this probably makes the most sense.
As someone who is in the high 800's/low 900's, I'm more frustrated that the deadline to ask for extra tickets got extended, so i likely won't get the extra 4 i requested in November for this along with the first two playoff games. Had they extended the date for season ticket holders to renew but not ask for additional seats, I think it might have felt less "icky."

I understand this for sure, and I agree, but some of us do go to almost every home game and it feels discouraging to not even get a chance at the biggest one ever.

Agree with this. I don’t know why people are shocked. They’re handling these tickets like they always do; except this game is obviously much bigger. Doesn’t mean they change the rules.

Where were all these super fans last week when we didn’t even sell out? Didn’t hear fuss about tix then because it wasn’t the biggest game in the history of the state.

Guys, this is EXACTLY what we wanted to happen! You know the best way to ensure only Cat fans are at the biggest game ever? Give Bobcat season ticket holders first opportunity for extra tickets. You know where nearly all of these extras are gonna go? To Bobcat fans!

We’re right on track for Monday night. Cat fans got all the tickets. Now each of us has to see how many if any we get from our REQUESTS! We may not get any. Might get a few. But either way we know the tickets are in the hands of CAT fans. Now everyone needs to do the right thing. Sell to other Cat fans at a reasonable price. Give them away to Cat fans. I don’t care if every season ticket holder gives their tix to 8 aunts, uncles or grandparents if they’re Cat fans.

This is what we want! I’m sorry to anyone that won’t be able to go but that would happen no matter what! I really don’t see the issue. This was the best way to get the most Cat fans in the building for the biggest game ever.

And for a personal outlook, my grandfather is a griz fan and I love him to death. He asked for tickets and I told him I loved him but said ZERO chance. I literally may be left out of his will after today and honestly don’t care.
