Biggest stat might be how Lamson's numbers looked after his previous 'bad' games vs. SDSU, Mercyhurst and Cal Poly.Catprint wrote: ↑Fri Dec 12, 2025 12:40 amLate Thursday so putting this in two threads since not much time to read it before Friday night.
Never one to be overly optimistic after a game such as Yale. Just seemed to me we are dismissing the game as a one-off. So i thought a bit about the conference games and first playoff game. My sense was in the last three games the O was not as strong or just off. So here is my chart and observation about the First Six Conference Games and the Last Three Games. Yes, I get it that the competition is tougher in the last three games but I think the defense has held up about the same.
Observations
1) 21 fewer points per game
2) 125 fewer yards per game
3) About same yards per play. Its just we have fewer plays and time of possession.
4) Biggest stat - Averaging 122 fewer passing yards. All lost yards are from passing. Our run game is generating the same number of yards but the passing attack is almost half as much.
Conclusions? Nothing I would hang my hat on but I see SFA trying to keep this from being a tit for tat high scoring game.
1) I think SFA stacks the box after getting beaten up on the run by ACU last week. They will dare us to pass.
2) They will play lots of man with their top corners and try to keep out anything deep.
3) By stacking the box, they will work to put pressure on Lamson and keep their hands up given we had 3 or 4 tipped passes last week.
4) It will be up to our O line and Davis and Jones to make or break the game.
5) I think our D can keep SFA in the low 20's.
Just my observation. I still think we can run the ball.

This has been my thought too. Lamson is such a competitor. I'm sure he's seen his numbers, certainly knows his last game was not up to par last week, and will be on a mission to do better. He's maybe the one to be most concerned about if I'm SFA.TomCat88 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 12, 2025 9:52 amBiggest stat might be how Lamson's numbers looked after his previous 'bad' games vs. SDSU, Mercyhurst and Cal Poly.Catprint wrote: ↑Fri Dec 12, 2025 12:40 amLate Thursday so putting this in two threads since not much time to read it before Friday night.

I don't think Lamson was as bad passing against Yale as a lot of you do. He wasn't sharp, but he wasn't exceptionally bad either.
The lone deep pass was a bad ball that also should have been called PI. There was a pass over the middle that should have been called PI. Yale was surprisingly quick at the 2nd level and it didn't appear there were a lot of guys open, but still, that pass to Jones down the sideline was great. I'd be more quick to criticize his fumbling personally. If he doesn't fumble, we break that game open and it looks a lot better than it did.

Right. He just didn't play like he has and I'm thinking he's harder on himself than anyone else. So I expect him to show out tonight.BelligerentBobcat wrote: ↑Fri Dec 12, 2025 11:24 amI don't think Lamson was as bad passing against Yale as a lot of you do. The Gris are done tomorrow and now that NDSU is out of the way, this is our NC to lose. Everyone knows we are the favorites and will bring it home this time

The Griz defense allowed 29 points at home to a team that can't run and whose QB is playing on turf toe and they want to throw a parade about how awesome their defense is now because their former five-star (who has an NIL deal with the AARP) has turned it on a little bit.

Bring on Montana or USD...it's going to take a hell of an effort to beat us regardless.

Just seemed line a lot of guys got dinged. Hopefully doesn't keep them out, but Brott, Taki, Tayden, and Adam all went out. Cats are deep but can't keep losing guys.VimSince03 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 13, 2025 12:03 amOkaytetoncat wrote: ↑Fri Dec 12, 2025 11:56 pmGot pretty beat up this game.VimSince03 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 12, 2025 11:51 pmBring on Montana or USD...it's going to take a hell of an effort to beat us regardless.

Adam, Tayden, and Taki all played after they went out. Not sure I saw Brott again. But it's a long season. Hopefully there is something there in the extra day of rest and the extra time with school being out.

Kind of. Almost everyone that seemed to suffer an injury came back and played. We’ve got depth and EVERYONE is beat up with a couple games to playtetoncat wrote: ↑Fri Dec 12, 2025 11:56 pmGot pretty beat up this game.VimSince03 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 12, 2025 11:51 pmBring on Montana or USD...it's going to take a hell of an effort to beat us regardless.

I saw Brott walking around on the sideline near the end of the game and he didn't seem to be limping...
Eric Curry STILL makes me sad.

Are you 100% sure about Tayden? Doubtful they would let him back in the game after appearing to get knocked out.RedClowder wrote: ↑Sat Dec 13, 2025 12:40 amAdam, Tayden, and Taki all played after they went out. I didn't track if Brott went back in, but he was jogging it out on the sideline.

I’ll have to rewatch it to be sure but I thought he did. It looked more like a stinger or shoulder pop to me so maybe I’m completely misremembering it.91catAlum wrote: ↑Sat Dec 13, 2025 12:26 pmAre you 100% sure about Tayden? Adam looked knocked out on that long run that he took to the goal line but he made it back in. I’ll watch again and see.

Jones pointed at his mid section when got to sideline. Looked like wind knocked out of him and frustration of getting caught at goal line. Taki was back in but seemed to be limping. I didn't see Brott or Gray.RedClowder wrote: ↑Sat Dec 13, 2025 2:05 pmI’ll have to rewatch it to be sure but I thought he did. It was good to see Crews play well after way his arm was hanging last week. .

Man, I haven't had the wind knocked out of me in years. I hated when that would happen playing sports growing up. I also don't do nearly as much stupid stuff that would lead to it haha glad it was just his wind. He balled out yesterday.tetoncat wrote: ↑Sat Dec 13, 2025 2:20 pmJones pointed at his mid section when got to sideline.
