I feel a lot better seeing his tweet, but it was still a very, very, very bad look for the program in real time. And, unfortunately, very few of the people who saw it on TV will be following up on tweets to get more information.

Will this cost us some recruits in the future? Maybe. It was really ugly.

Let's be real here, aside from MSU and Yale fans nobody saw that. The SEC Championship game happening at the same time likely drew slightly better ratings.

The ESPN tweet will get a lot of views. I am guessing in the millions

Two other tweets I saw are at 2.8M views and 2.0M views so far. The thing about when something goes viral, you can't stop the signal.

I finally watched the video. I don’t even think it’s a big deal. Everyone was making this out to be something horrible. So, I thought something horrible happened. They yelled at each other and Julius didn’t want to be touched. I’d be shocked if he misses one snap. This is absolutely no big deal.

The whole trash talking tone of the game was set about an hour or more before the game. I’m not sure how it started but players were doing a lot of talking and it got way out of hand. One msu player was approached by a captain to stop, then an assistant coach and finally the head coach.

It carried over into the game and after as expected.

I actually predicted that the player for MSU would get a penalty in the game and he did.

There was no way these two teams were getting off the field without some kind altercation.

I’m not sure why anyone for MSU would trash talk very heavily. One of the best teams in the nation and their play speaks much louder than any words will.

I know that was not directed at me but ... I hate watching Bobcats fail. I wish it hadn't happened and further wish that ESPN hadn't caught it and lingered on it. I swear they extended their coverage just to film it all.

I'm just pointing out the public perception of this in response to people saying that it's not a big deal. It is a big deal ... but hopefully it will fade over time. But it definitely will have some negative long term impacts for MSU and for him. But hopefully a little as possible.

Definitely not saying he's a bad guy -- I don't know him. But it was definitely an unfortunate venue and time for a world-class meltdown.

They could have also pulled out to a field level frame or another view to close it out rather than stay tight on the interaction.

I went in to work after the game and one of our managers immediately mentioned how our RB had a meltdown after the game ... that was his first takeaway.

So was it the end of the world? Nope. Was it a horrible look for the team? Yes.

This will not cost us recruits. Julius took more accountability for this than Hauck did for his public explosion on an athlete last year and that didn’t seem to hurt them at all, and that was a coach acting like a child…

Julius apologized and will have to live with this, he can make up for it but the facts are, this did not tarnish our schools reputation, it’s not like we have multiple athletes on trial for SIWOC, and he’s gone after this year.

In the here and now I agree with you, not a good look, but going forward maybe the team shows how issues like this are appropriately handled. Not you or anyone on here specifically, but I love how so many people are so quick to judge, like they live a perfect life, it’s pathetic to read people punching down on him on the ESPN post and than read #chritian, #godfirst ect. on their social handle. We are a society that loves to validate ourselves by watching others fail.

If they aren’t following up, then they probably don’t care and will forget about it as soon as another shiny object crosses their field of view.

I can vouch that Tom texted me more than an hour before kickoff that someone was going to get in a fight or get a personal foul haha
