Yale Fans
It sounds like the players were chippy. I’m curious how their fans were to our fans. Anyone interact with them?

We were plenty loud and opinionated while surrounded by Yale fans. Positive interactions and they were rational. Shook hands with them after the game.Run-the-ball wrote: ↑Sat Dec 06, 2025 9:06 pmIt sounds like the players were chippy. I’m curious how their fans were to our fans. Anyone interact with them?

Re: Yale Fans
There were several Yale fans who appeared to be former players sitting near us in 109. They cheered loudly for their team but were not obnoxious and were friendly to the Cat fans surrounding them. One of them had their young son (7-ish) with him there.

Re: Yale Fans
Fans next to us were super friendly with a very good scarf and sweater game. Other than #7 DB (#7 RB is really good and seemed to be a good dude in defeat after the game) and some others I was impressed.

I talked to a guy in a Yale sweater. He was walking with some friends who were Cat fans. happened to be Lencioni’s parents. Very kind interaction.

Re: Yale Fans
Yeah, I saw them scattered around the East grandstands. I saw a large contingent on the West side in an area where visiting fans don’t normally sit. I also saw quite a few out at dinner at the Ale Works. No issues with any of them, but I didn’t talk with them either.

Bobcat athletics is a business to the coaches, school leadership, and players. It's time the fans treat Bobcat athletics as a business too.

Was that the cowbell conversation they had to have with security? We tried to explain that it’s an NCAA Rule but we were too far away. The Yale fans near us accepted and understood the situationbobcatozzy wrote: ↑Sat Dec 06, 2025 9:14 pmMost were really good. I think those 3 fans spent more time trying to start crap with our students then watching the game. What was the cowbell incident?
Rest In peace dad.

Re: Yale Fans
I briefly spoke to a couple fans in passing before the game. Two of their fans stopped by the fire at our tailgate after the game and talked with us for quite a while.
They all seemed friendly and happy.

I had a positive interaction. Frankly, I was surprised at how the players got into it early, Based on the post game conference given by the Yale coach, I think we can attribute the chippiness to what he must have told his team before the game.

You know those Yale football players actually have real classes. You can tell by the amount of undeclared majors on the roster.

We a couple beers with the Yale equipment managers and strength coaches Friday night. Super good guys. They even waved to me before the game from the sideline. None of their fans were in 104, so no call on them.

Talked to some at the game and after at the Christmas Stroll. One of the older Yale fans said he'd root against the Griz if we rooted against Harvard, and we exchange some "F*** the Griz" and "F*** Harvard"s lmao. Overall thought Yale fans were pleasant

Re: Yale Fans
Had several of their fans walking by our tailgate and yelled at em if they wanted a beer. They immediately stopped and said, “really?!” In complete disbelief that it would even be offered. The fan I spoke to was a former player from the early 90s. He didn’t really want to have much of a back and forth conversation but was very intent on telling me that he was a Yale graduate who live outside of New York like I was supposed to be impressed with all of it. He was a nice guy but pretty full of himself.
I did get a chuckle that each person of the group all had brand new cold weather gear with tags freshly ripped off before heading to the stadium.

Re: Yale Fans
They were pretty nice. Had a couple of them stop and talk with us at Bridger Brewing saying “good game” and “they’d be cheering for us the rest of the way”.
Only thing that kinda rubbed me the wrong was the comments made by the assistant coach during the press conference. “Our kids go to a real university…” not sure if he was trying to take a shot at us or at the larger college football landscape, but raised an eyebrow.

Yale head football coach to take medical leave of absence

Maybe why he didn't do pre or post game media.
