Post by jjsuper83 » Wed Sep 20, 2006 12:41 pm

So I hear from a source the entire 1996 men's hoop team will be in town for the Hall of Fame weekend (including Quadre who will be flying in from Italy) We should have a little more buzz in the air for one of the best Bobcat teams ever. If anyone has info on times and events could you please post

Another inductee is Brian Schweyen. One of the top 50 athletes to come out of Montana. College High Jump All-America and Top 10 decathlete in the early 90's.

When he first came to MSU, Stu Starner was eyeing him for the basketball team and when Durham took over, he also wanted Brian, but his roster was already full at the time.

Still the only person in the world to high jump over 7ft. and pole vault over 17ft. on the same day and he did it three times.

He married a grizzly, but she is the hottest one (Shannon Cate).

Congrats Brian.

Friday
6pm cocktail - Strand Union
7pm induction ceremonies

I would think Dan Sullivan would be there. He and I went to high school together and I ran into him a few years ago in Billings.

To the best of my knowledge, he's still in Billings.

BTW, he nailed a nice trey against Syracuse in the tourney. Didn't 'Cuse go on to win that year?

Syracuse lost in the National Championship that year. Also, Mick Durham is going into the hall of fame not just as part of the 1996 team, but on his own.

GO CATS!
It's always a good day to be a Bobcat fan! :) =D^ \:D/

I think in honor of them I will break out the "CATS ARE BACK" 1996 Conference Champions T-shirt for the game. If we win, it may be something I wear to every game.

Now the only question...do I dig out the old one from when I was 14 or do I wear the less worn one that my dad had and gave to me?
